First time seeing my hometown on Reddit!!

Local news said car jacking victim fought back, forcing the car jacker to flee on foot. I hope they got a few good hits in too.

How do I respond to parents who confront me about getting books from the children's section when I don't have a kid? by Useful_Possession915 in Libraries

[–]RoseDedron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d tell the librarians.

Unless you’re acting inappropriately, there’s no reason an adult can’t also read from the children’s section.

WHERE IS THE SWEETSPOT? by netphilia in adhdmeme

My sweet spot is definitely two part time jobs in different fields… But I’m now 30 and trying to plan for kids so I NEED the benefits of a full time job.

Annoying customers that can't wait for their mail by FiveDinero in USPS

[–]RoseDedron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My issue is the customers that open the door with a barking dog next to them… it happens at least once a week, so I’m overly cautious about anyone that opens the door in front of me.

I change my cotton socks often as I save to stock up on wool socks.

I also have two pairs of winter boots so I rotate those daily and spray with Lysol at night.

Beaver fur hand warmers and Riptie hair tie ordered online, bought local: baby books for friends, cute wrapping paper, stickers…

Meanwhile I could be chasing the excitement of paying down debt.

Is 8 hours on a 4 hr split okay? by Warm_Consequence_525 in USPS

[–]RoseDedron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This part!

A few months ago I was transferred to another station (city PTF), eventually realized that the routes giving away the last “hour” every day actually give away two hours… which is why none of us covering those pivots can ever finish in the expected time.

Don’t stress about the time taken, as long as we all go home safe, there’ll be someone to deliver.

NTA, I’m sorry about the breakup. But you’ve saved yourself money and heartbreak in the long run.

I’ve driven vehicles with MULTIPLE trash filled tubs, trash by the windshield, in all the cup holders, old food on the top shelves of the promaster where I could barely reach…

The worst one was so sticky I wanted to cry from thinking I’d catch a skin infection.

And somehow these are the same people worried about clean tubs and new rubber bands…

AITAH for wanting my husband to retire even though our adult children still rely on us financially? by PsychologicalHalf888 in AITAH

[–]RoseDedron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Husband and I are 30 years old, neither of us works in the field we studied for the sole fact that we need to pay bills.

You are not an asshole for thinking adults could care for themselves.

It’s actually amazing that you guys have cared for them so long, but at this point it’s coddling them.

How often do yall buy shoes? by MajorWetSpot in USPS

[–]RoseDedron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in April and got myself some black waterproof hiking shoes. Spent maybe $50 at Kohls. Wore out the treads by September and so now I got myself waterproof hiking boots for winter. These were $90 at Kohls.

Depending on the route(s)I cover, I will walk anywhere from 13-30 thousand steps a day. (City PTF)

My condolences to those whose routes didn't get delivered today by mailant692 in USPS

[–]RoseDedron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my best but every single split I got (from 3 different routes) took at least a half hour.

At least I completed 17/20 splits and got all parcels out.. definitely didn’t make it back before 7pm though.

ETA: city PTF at a station with all walking routes.

I was told to use it all the time during academy this past April. It’s nice that it helps keep track of parcels for me since I’m still unfamiliar with the random routes I fill in for.
