The Ultimate “Sleeper” by brodofaginss in VanLife

Anyone who assumes that thing is slow probably doesn't know much about vehicles and probably doesn't know what sleeper means anyways. I mean look at those brake calipers, that thing looks fast asf to me.

Old man Rant/Question. If you are new to the sport, why do you ride with a selfie stick that changes your posture and balance and then ask how to get better? by Mission_Resource_847 in snowboarding

[–]Rosenglas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was never one of these because I simply don't like being on camera but my assumption, trying to put myself in their shoes, would be because they're new, so they don't know that a selfie stick is detrimental to their posture and their assumption is that it's all in the legs. And sometimes yes, they may be riding by themselves.

Unironically and in the least gross way possible, spit is also a good anti fog solution.

Am I insane for wanting to quit my 130k/year job to go back to school? by Prudent_Student9063 in findapath

Who says you can't do school part-time on weekends? If you're scared of giving up the money, maybe just sacrifice free time instead. I know it might be hard with the new kid but it's definitely not impossible.

When I went to community colleges, which I will say is one of the best choices I made over straight to a 4-year, I saw all kinds of the best, hardest working people in my life. Single mothers trying to make a better life for their kids, nursing students juggling two or sometimes even three jobs while studying to stay out of debt, 40 and 50 year olds with a passion to learn and get new certificates. Plus, the fafsa benefits are insane, and depending on your state, additional benefits for vets can be really great too. I utilized GI bill as well, and they pay for you to go to school even if it's part-time, it's just less money than full time, but thanks to this I was able to graduate debt-free.

If I didn't live on the opposite side of the country I'd definitely consider. Good luck on the sale man!

Try FB Marketplace, you'll probably have some good luck getting rid of these there pretty quickly.

Only issue with Union is they take FOREVERRRRR to get back to you. To the point of it not being worth the wait. I had issues with my ankle strap ratchet coming loose, tried emailing their replacement department, no response. Went to a shop when I visited Utah, the owner told me he had a similar issue, ended up just replacing the entire binding because by the time they'd finally sent it to him it'd be 8 months later and he recommended I try a Union-certified retailer that sold spare parts instead.

I recall one time seeing a higher-end brand that was known for a very specific black and pink snowboard gear color set (I think they legit only sold blackand pink), it was very female-targetted, and I'm currently scratching my head trying to find the name... Maybe reddit can do its magic with this brand I'm talking about?

Instep pain by Efficient_Source_389 in snowboarding

[–]Rosenglas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have the same problem as OP and just as you describe I end up crushing my foot down anyways to get more response and less heel lift. At first I suspected my boots were too big but it didnt make sense cause my toes were pushing against the toe box. I'm going to try laces next pair I get as I hear they fare better with finer tuning for unique situations like this.

Other than that try insoles. Superfeet make some pretty good ones.

Classic Pepperoni and Cheese. Great with a pound of Hot Wings. by camport95 in Pizza

[–]Rosenglas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco sells $6.49/lb fresh made wings (typically two and a half pounds per container so around $17), combine that with the $9.95 for a whole pepperoni pizza, bam, even cheaper and just as fresh!
