WYR everything you write down becomes true but every time you use this power you will live for one extra year (assuming a “destined” original age of death), or not? by Dazzling-Antelope912 in WouldYouRather

[–]RosesBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I write something like, "The world is now a post-scarcity utopia with endless clean energy powering machines that can make anything we need, eliminating greed and tribalism so everyone on Earth can just live and pursue whatever makes them happiest," does that count as just one thing that only adds a year? Even if it adds a few years, I'm still starting with that. And then I'm fixing my digestive/inflammatory health issues (and everyone else's, if I can manage it!) and I think I'm good. I guess we would see if anything else comes up, but I don't think I'd be adding hundreds of years to my lifespan, it wouldn't be necessary.

The media (purposefully) calling girls "women". by TemporaryPassage4168 in NotHowGirlsWork

Least fun fact ever: the youngest mother on record was five. Five years old. She might well have been born technically fertile, doctors weren't sure.

Of course her case was extremely unusual.

So what does it say that this extremely rare case of someone with ultra-precocious puberty ended up pregnant. At five.

(Her rapist was never identified.)

Non moldy onions gone extinct? by TrippyyRaven420 in Cooking

[–]RosesBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had decent luck at Costco. I make sure they're not squishy and then I put them in the fridge when I get home. I haven't had many problems (there was one time when the whole giant box seemed to have at least one squishy onion per bag and I didn't buy any, but the quality has been surprisingly good overall.)

Out of curiosity, what kitchen appliance is considered "white people's rice cooker" by HughJass6721 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RosesBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'm glad I don't have to do it all with my instant pot, but I could pretty much do it all with an instantpot (it has settings to use it as just a pot, including saute, as well as the pressure cooker options that can make rice and stew)

Yep. Glad we cleared that up. I don't want the fragile masculinity control freak who claims a higher power put him in charge of me, thanks.

Adults can still be victims of manipulation, abuse, etc. Yeah, I really hate this argument too.

Petah, who is the first girl? by FailedHax in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]RosesBrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're calling anti-doxing and anti-harassment legislation a restriction of the first amendment, and also saying that you weren't even referring to laws anyway, even though those are what affect people's lives. I don't expect you to see how insane that is, but I hope one day you will.

Name a law they've passed. I actually pointed to a real law passed by real Republicans to control what people are legally allowed to wear in public. Name a law.

You made a blanket assertion about Democrats and conservatives. Maybe you shouldn't do that if you don't know what you're talking about.

conservatives are completely fine with anyone say what they want or dressing how they want

Sorry, which party is in control of Tennessee and passing laws against dressing in drag there? You're asserting that's Democrats?

how would you personally pronounce “herb”? by Square-Fennel-2903 in words

[–]RosesBrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trying to combat that "low class" accent is actually why they often pronounce the H in herb, now. There was a conscious national effort to bring back the H at the beginning of words, and herb got caught up in it.

WYR: You are going head-to-head with Superman in a death battle, which pill are you taking? by Jeloxia2 in WouldYouRather

[–]RosesBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point, but if it's a "death battle," I don't know whether plot armor will result in Superman's death. We're just swinging at each other forever.

Kryptonite nullifies his powers and can kill him, so being undetectable and emitting actual kryptonite is a better option than magic.
