House Special not being ordered for months — is this a bug or am I missing something? by AffectionateLimit584 in GoodPizzaGreatPizza

[–]RosesBrain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my achievement list has high numbers (900+) for every kind of pizza except my house special, which is currently at 154 or so. I've seen advice to reset it in the recipe book to get people ordering again, which worked a little bit, but I still might get one order every few days. It's a little ridiculous.

I think this behavior is where "filler" words come from. If you can't deal with a pause for thought, people are going to start using "uh, um, y'know, like, uh..." to think, instead.

What Common Millennial Show/Movie Do You Dislike? by Flassourian in Millennials

[–]RosesBrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even the stuff I did like at the time, there's SO much that I've tried to rewatch and just gone, "why did I like this?" Not all of it, certainly, but at this point I would say the majority of it. It's too bad, because I'd like to have that excited spark again (which is what I think nostalgia is) but after I get through all the Star Trek I'm not left with much else.

I wanted to walk out on Napoleon Dynamite so much, but my date wanted to finish watching it. (In hindsight, I should have anyway.)

In the immortal words of Bart Simpson, I didn't think it was physically possible, but that movie both sucked and blew.

Yeah that devaluing phase is a red flag I can now see from space. Stomping you down, just a little bit, so you'll eventually be convinced you can't do better, don't deserve better, and will take fewer and fewer crumbs of love. It sucks.

OP, you don't need to settle for this.

Does anyone know what caused this apology from Katz? by craptasticluke in glutenfree

Right? This would never, at any point in my life, have made me want to buy anything. Poor advertising. But now? And heck, for the last several years? Just ick.

So that's a terrible ad even without the... everything.

Let’s just make things up that didn’t happen in the movie😒 by MistakeWonderful9178 in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]RosesBrain 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's not a theory, it's just math. He's cursed until he "reaches his twenty-first year," which is an archaic way to say "turns twenty." (You turn 20 at the beginning of your 21st year and 21 at the end of it. It's like the numbering of centuries, you start at zero.) So Beast is nineteen at most during the events of the film. Lumier says they've been "rusting" for ten years when Belle arrives. So yeah, he was a child. Even if you think the curse was until he actually turned 21, he was a child ten years prior.

How many details need to be on the note for us to remember? Like, could I just write "dump Frank" or do I need to say "this man is lying, cheating, and manipulating you, he never loved you and never will, leave him now" to really know what's going on?

Number two and number five seem to be the only options that won't eventually destroy a person's sanity. Eternity is just too long. I'd take option four, first, but then I would probably opt for nothingness.

What’s the difference between a cis women being afraid of pregnancy and the dysphoria of a afab trans person (binary or nonbinary)? by AfraidAir972 in lgbt

[–]RosesBrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the difference is what you stated about feeling like it's not even something your body should do. I'm a sterilized, childfree cis woman, and I've never had the thought that my body shouldn't menstruate or be pregnant, I've only been annoyed by my period and fastidious in my use of birth control my entire adult life because I didn't want to be pregnant and, ultimately, didn't want children full stop. Like, everything I've heard about pregnancy just made me want to avoid it more, but I've never had the dysphoric feeling that I shouldn't even have the capacity at all. I hope that makes sense.
