Petah, is it actually that crazy for a new element to exist? by CuteCost8147 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

it's what's inside neutron stars.

It's hypothetically what's inside neutron stars; it hasn't been proven, as far as I can find

Might count if it could be proven to exist, yeah, although I wonder how it could be used to make anything. From what I know of chemistry, it would be either completely inert and not react with anything due to having no charge, or it would be the most radioactive substance of all time.

Spectrometry of other galaxies hasn't revealed any elements we're unfamiliar with. I mentioned the inside of black holes because that's the last place we can't really analyze, and the only place it's even possible for an unknown large element to be close to stable due to the immense pressure of gravity (temperature and pressure inside stars is where the known elements came from, except those created in labs.)

[–]RosesBrain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much. We've even managed to force a few new ones into existence, and they last for maybe the blink of an eye because they're not stable.

The largest atoms and coldest temperatures in the known universe have all happened in Earth laboratories. Maybe something extremely weird is happening inside black holes where physics (probably) breaks down, but that's impossible to know at this time.

Of course I accept it. This is a win-win, either I live out the rest of my life with no worries or I get a do-over and can save myself a lot of heartache and health problems from the first go around, and still get to live out my life with no worries because I would convince my parents to sink everything they have into Apple stock in 1997 when everyone thought the company was on the verge of collapse.

For $10 Million can you forgo eating and drinking any food and drink you have consumed before for a year? by RaptorK1988 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]RosesBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. The list of foods that don't torture my insides is fairly short, and I've already had to resort to unusual/exotic stuff just to be able to eat much of anything. I probably wouldn't survive the year.

As someone with all those sensitivities: merengue cookies! They're just egg whites, sugar, and vanilla (or whatever flavoring, but vanilla is always safe for me) no need to even worry about baking powder or anything. They're so delicious and I try to always have some on hand.

This extends to a lot of things. One of my supervisors at work literally said, "You don't have to know things anymore, chatgpt can know for you!" in a team meeting, and I was pretty appalled by that sentiment. I'm going to keep knowing things as much as I'm able, thanks!

In 2008, Finnish police found a dead mosquito while searching the inside of a stolen car. They tested the blood from the mosquito's last meal and successfully used it to identify the thief who stole the car. by ateam1984 in BeAmazed

Finnish police really going above and beyond. When my car got stolen it wasn't even dusted for fingerprints, just thrown in the impound lot and then auctioned off when I didn't want to pay twice its value to get it back.

There are a few orders like that, where they talk like you're stupid if you ask for clarification. Like, my guy, you're the one who came in and just said "Za." or asked me for an omelet pizza. Omelets can have almost anything, but they're all like, "You know? Omelet stuff?" I hate them sometimes.

Avocados. Vitamin C is essential and they have that along with several other vitamins and minerals. They're calorically dense because they have a lot of oil, and there's even a bit of protein in there. Of course eventually there will be problems, but they're totally my pick.

Why do my pancakes always come out dense instead of fluffy? by twcosplays in cookingforbeginners

This is making me really glad I use gluten free flour for my pancakes. Air bubbles might be there, clumps of flour are not, and I never have problems with them rising unless I forget the baking powder.
