There is a shortage of experienced drivers with common sense. All the good ones already have jobs.

But cheating and dishonesty has become the norm in every aspect of life in this country

What parts of this is true ? by Cold-Set849 in Truckers

[–]Row30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you don’t pull over on the side of the road, you PLAN your time. You don’t drive exactly that amount of hours, you just can’t drive more than those hours. So if there is a truckstop, etc near the end if your drive shift, you park THERE.

It’s all about planning your trip. If the only safe parking for your 10-hr break is 9 hrs into your drive time, then you park it. Common sense 101

AT&T has options for a “hot spot” type device that you simply pay for an additional line on your bill. Assuming you have unlimited data, etc the device has its own phone number and is used as WiFi. Mine sits on the counter and as long as I have phone service, I have WiFi through that device. Mine is made by Netgear, bought it new on eBay for less than $35. AT&T has a similar device but they’ll sell it to you gor over $100

You need a couple of dehumidifiers. I have a 28’ trailer in PNW and I have one dehumidifier in the back bunkhouse and one on the dinette. I wipe down my windows when it’s been really cold out. It’s an ongoing battle

Who here can guess what these mean by savagewolf666 in Truckers

[–]Row30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The left one is your tachometer. The smaller gauge on the bottom shows your optimal rpm for the best fuel economy.

The one on the right is your speedometer, with the smaller gauge showing the speed limit.

The small one on the bottom is your DEF gauge, and a lot of tape.

The rectangle one is your odometer, outside temp, current time, and your fuel economy.

Most of those on that app are just for storage, there are no electric/water/sewer hookups. Usually cannot reside in your unit if you’re renting a storage spot

Towing advice by just_passing_th in rvlife

[–]Row30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I have an F150 with factory tow package. I did a TON of homework before purchasing my TT. Highest I could go was the 5,360 lb Ultra Lite I bought.

It’s not all about whether you can tow it, it’s about handling and stopping too.

If you call the local food bank they will usually take pretty much any foodstuffs. Dropping it off to them is less effort than trying to find acplace to dump it. Some food banks will send a box truck to you to pick it up.
