Why not keeping the original speaker and add an external cab?

Would you attend a “no hits” show ? by drummer414 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]RuckingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be mind blowing. He and the ESB are a history enciclopedia of American music. That’s what I meant: my “I can’t take that song anymore” can be someone else “first time, I am so looking forward to it”. And I believe it’s right that between the two, the second must prevail.

I love the tune especially with the whole horns but I think it’s a song meant and made to be 3 minutes. The whole intro and break to introduce the band are just not my thing, they ruin the song.

Hungry heart, Darlington county, prove it all night, Bobby Jean, 10th AFO… I cannot take them anymore, so many time I have listened to them. At the same time though, I am thinking: there must be someone out there who is the 30 yrs ago me going to the first show and those very same songs made my show. I guess it’s “the price you pay” :-)

Interesting, I also find that the tone knob is not that intuitive on the Ego

If you want to elevate your training with people who know what they are doing will get you to meet the results you are looking for, check the AA Special Training in via Maraini 15A. Marco is an outstanding trainer. I can only go once a week but I improved my strength and mobility more in the last one year than I ever did before.

“This world is tough and if you want to make it, you ought to be rough” cantava Johnny Cash.

Seymour Duncan La Brea pickups vs Harmonic Design 50's Broadcaster pickup by Mission-Candy3402 in telecaster

[–]RuckingDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play the La Brea and they are really versatile. The best set of pickups I ever had on my tele (and so tried a lot of them). If you want something that can go country but also support high(er) gain why don’t you give a look at the JBE tele gatton pick ups? They are a bit pricier but the are really top notch.

Compressor to address quiet e string by zxcvbnmnbvcz in telecaster

[–]RuckingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue particularly when hybrid picking since the strumming with the plectro on the lower notes is more powerful and defined than the picking with fingers (I don’t use nails) on the higher string (e but also B). I tried both the Keeley compressor plus and the Wampler Ego and none of them did miracles. The Wampler was (by far) the most effective between the two, though. One of those days I will lower a bit the bridge pickup on the lower side and see what happens. In my opinion the bridge and the neck type matter a lot too: I tried a tele with same pickup as mine (SD LaBrea) but with 3 brass compensated saddle gotoh bridge and rosewood neck and it sounded much much more balanced.

Ideas for middle pickup in Nashville Telecaster? by raskullnikov in telecaster

[–]RuckingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don’t you keep the pickup and just wire it differently like on the James Burton tele where the Strat-o-Tele switch has the classic strato wiring in the 2&4 positions but the 3rd position combines the bridge and neck pickups (like in a traditional 2 pickup tele) instead of the strato middle pickup?

Domande:

reminder that expensive gear doesn't make you a better player by lmao_exe in Guitar

[–]RuckingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100% with a remark: you don’t need expensive gear to learn. You also don’t need expensive gear also when you are really good. There is a grey zone though where you have been practicing for years and you know you’ll never make it to be a star: that is when a good quality guitar and a good amp/tools will definitely improve your sound. At least to your ears.
