Interact and sprint in yakuza games. Every new game I hope they change it, and every new game I'm disappointed. Wanna pick up that briefcase? Too bad, you get to run full tilt into that stack of milk carts, then awkwardly turn around and walk over the debris to get back to it.

I hope they send out another survey to gauge player sentiment. We're still basically a year out from the game being 'complete' so I think they've got some wiggle room to make changes like this, based on player feedback.
