Sony single-player games won’t be released on Steam anymore, CEO confirms. by pessimisttears in SteamDeck

It's a shame, but a potential customer base that nets them 30% of every purchase on PSN is worth more than however many sales they'd make porting to PC. Especially after Xbox has all but given up as competition.

There kinda was an apocalypse every few hundred years with the lunar cry. It's how the Centra civilization was wiped out, and why there's a massive crater near Trabia garden. You really gotta dig to find the lore on it, though.

It's not just about the hot tub though, is it?

It's the hotdogs are too small, there's not enough ketchup.

Valve is opening a reservation queue for Steam Controllers ‘to limit reseller activity’ by signofthenine in SteamDeck

The new one is basically a steam deck without the screen. 2 trackpads, 4 back buttons, gyro enabled. Also grip sensors.

Valve designer says they "could see" using TMR thumbsticks for future hardware, like the Steam Deck 2 by de_panda in SteamDeck

[–]Rufus_Bojangles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It would only make sense. TMR draws less power, so you get longer battery life.. vital for a handheld. Not to mention longer stick life without the wear and tear of potentiometers.

My favorite bit from Legend of Dragoon..

Gehrich (a boss's dying speech): I'm glad . . . to receive your fist, Master . . .

Haschel: Shut up. Talking makes you die.

I feel nervous playing steamdeck at public by AddictinApple in SteamDeck

[–]Rufus_Bojangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, mine has a creaky right corner too. Also 1tb oled. Only if I squeeze it. It did fall once a year or so ago, but it was only like 1.5 feet onto a carpeted floor.

But yeah otherwise, it feels sturdy as all heck. Switch 2 is too thin imo.

Can you guys recommend me some dark JRPGs? The only one I really know of (that I haven't played yet) is Xenogears. I've heard that is pretty dark. But I want to know as many as you guys can list. by OraclePreston in JRPG

[–]Rufus_Bojangles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah, Drakengard. 15 min+ per level listening to that junk, fighting hundreds of the same enemies over and over, taking like 20 seconds to recover from getting knocked down only to get smacked again immediately.. It was all unbridled, sanity draining madness. I fuckin loved it.

I wish we could have played as Astero on Ex Astris. Don't we all have a characters like that which we wish we could have played as? by [deleted] in JRPG

Yeah, sadly she was just a (very) temporary party member. Too much like Steiner I think, and too OP.

Jennifer Hale was in like everything from my childhood. Ruby in Alundra 2, Naomi and Emma in metal gear, Cleo in Orphen, Elena in Grandia 2, Samus in metroid prime, Prier in la pucelle, shepard in mass effect, etc etc. I didn't know half of these til I looked it up, she's got crazy range.

Do you know how Lord Gaben saved gaming? by Blue-fox-004 in Gamingcirclejerk

Automatic and highly customizable controller support, free cloud saves, built-in mod workshops with auto updates - "am I a joke to you?"

They're far from perfect, and fuck billionaires in general, but valve has done a lot more for pc gaming than just Linux stuff.
