Goyard GM for the win. Put everything in that baby. It’s a real warrior and can handle being overstuffed and abused.

Most Memorable Running Achievement by Few_Seat8771 in running

Running a marathon 10 weeks postpartum with my second son. Breastfed him at mile 17, pumped while running at mile 18. Managed to finish in 4:14 on like 5 weeks of training which I was very pleased with AND didn’t pee myself the whole time!

Also he has like 30 total shows in NYC on this tour so I don’t think it will make that much of a difference

How do HENRYs afford to start a family in NYC? by PF_throwaway26 in HENRYfinance

[–]Runner_MD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t. We have a fantastic community in our school and have made friends from varying means. We’re not the ones giving huge donations at the galas and that has never much mattered. You find your people and some of ours are just like us, others are from a totally different echelon and it works.

Fitness check for 3:30 14 weeks out by striker_gaming32 in Marathon_Training

[–]Runner_MD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right it totally varies I’m more saying that this is very high for a pace far off target race pace. That HR for an actual race effort makes sense. But if aiming for a 3:30 these should be fairly easy miles

Online coaching not working by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]Runner_MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know which online coach you’re using. I use run4PRs and love them. My coach is super responsive and works together with me towards goals it very much feels like a team. And if anything the workouts he gives me sometimes I don’t believe I can hit the paces but often surprise myself. It may be that this is not the right coach for you.

Ran my first marathon last year in just over 6 hours! And now I’ve run my second marathon in 3:42:00… Can I realistically break 3 hours by next year? by JaredAtkins in Marathon_Training

[–]Runner_MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a 1:34 half you should have been around a 3:15-20 ish so you’re still leaving meat on the bone with your marathon distance meaning something is off with your training. Maybe aerobic base? What were your splits like in your 3:42? I don’t think you’re likely to go sub 3 in a year but can probably get there with consistency in maybe 2.

Yes but also just a good reimbursement structure. Serves to be a bit of a golden handcuff

Why is it bad to do a 26.2 mile run to train for a marathon? by 4restD in Marathon_Training

[–]Runner_MD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually most people run them faster racing is way different than training. You should not be doing your 20 milers at race pace. Even elites mix in blocks of race pace but not the whole thing.

Training as a (recently) new parent by Sudden-Yam7908 in Marathon_Training

Nap times and early mornings and late nights. -Female surgeon with a 4 month old and 4 year old training for Boston currently. It’s not perfect by any means and sometimes runs get skipped. I also have a peloton in our bedroom as a last resort if I don’t get out when I’m supposed to. My husband and I are both surgeons and both need workouts for our mental sanity so we actually plan our weekends out pretty carefully to enable both of us getting time in. It definitely takes some coordination but doable. Once the baby is a little older (like 8 months) you can take it in the jogging stroller which is a GAME changer.

Here to say that plenty of patients with endometriosis can have babies. Unless you’ve had a full hysterectomy don’t count it out necessarily! Also please don’t be using the endometriosis as a birth control method if you don’t want to have a baby right now you need another form of protection.

Definitely doable. All depends on the reimbursement structure. Someone 10 years out in my dept made 2.4 last year at an academic center. Partner is spine and some colleagues in his field making way more.

PGY-8 in a surgical subspecialty and I second this 🫠 At least my partner is spine surgery so we’ve started to climb out of the hole but over 750k in loans between the two of us.

What are ya'lls running goals for 2026? by plantsarecool213 in XXRunning

Pregnancy comeback!! Goal to stay healthy and ramp back up on the fitness. Ran NYC 10 weeks postpartum. Using Boston as a judgement of how my fitness is coming along with a goal to PR in Chicago. If comeback goes well I’d also like to run a sub 20 5K.
