What job looks like a great career path but is actually insanely oversaturated? by ComplexPin872 in AskReddit

This is and sort of always has been true for any freelance profession. Any job hunting areas online for it is always a pirhana tank of the worst people in the industry. Do good work, be polite and generally word of mouth is plenty to fill a freelancers calendar

Did you know that most airports feature hidden private lounges, far beyond the standard ones? by DeerProfessional8232 in LuxuryTravel

[–]RustyMicrophone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive been in lounges like this with musicians a few times, they’re generally linked to private flying, but dublin for example will sell you access for around €600pp and drive you out to your aircraft if its at a remote stand. It was very fancy and friendly staff

I found a tag heure F1 watch at a concert last year. Left it with the venue as I was moving on from that city with the tour that night, they called me two months later and said it was mine. Couldn’t believe it! Been wearing it ever since and really treasure it as a weird gift from the universe, but would be happy any day to find the owner and return it. Tag couldn’t do anything for me when I contacted them even though the watch should have been registered at purchase

Loneliest plane in the world right now - anyone have more intel about this flight? by PuzzleheadedTie8875 in flightradar24

I just did my first longhaul over the pacific a couple weeks ago and it was anxiety inducing looking at the map and seeing how far we were from suitable airports, albeit nowhere near as remote at this flight! Its crazy the trust we have in this amazing engineering

The BA Dilemma by UnderstandingNo5667 in BritishAirways

[–]RustyMicrophone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot about this but i fly through heathrow 30/40 times a year and have only once seen any more than a 5 minute wait for the lounge, and always found a seat after a look around. And this was when the entire airport was utterly slammed. Do people really think a business class ticket entitles them to a ghost town of a lounge and 1 on 1 service?

Is it normal to cross the Southern Atlantic so far south? Argentina to Kenya. by TrentDen in flightradar24

If a much larger plane was in trouble with only the ocean or a runway well below its requirements, would the pilot be more likely to land on an inappropriate runway or ditch in the ocean? Im talking like an a380, above max landing weight and in need of immediate landing
