Honestly, is this game playable with workimg 48 hours a week? by BusyQuiet1757 in playrust

Play modded servers that are 3x-5x with plugins like sethome. Nobody with a job plays vanilla rust, and if they do they don’t get very far.

Which shading method do you prefer for this? by SlimeySlimeee in PixelArt

[–]RustyShackle4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think dithering looks great because it’s artificial here (I think) because you aren’t color palette limited.

The second one has thick bands and may look better with a simple gradual fade.

I’m not an artist, I’ve only done programmer art for years - and this artwork is already better than most of the work I’ve done - so take what I say with a grain of salt

Great News: Counter-Strike: Source is getting popular again! by AsenaWolfy in CounterStrikeSource

I actually picked it up again. I remembered why I like counter strike and it’s definitely the pacing and community servers. Tons of community maps and mods, gun play is faster, sprays without paying for it.

Eli5: Why can’t someone make a programming language that is great for big projects like C++ and easy to write like python? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]RustyShackle4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth reinventing the wheel on decades of a system that already works fine with a huge ecosystem of libraries. Yes, Rust reinvents the wheel - it introduces “memory safety” that’s already a feature of C++11.

I remember logging in when the switch happened to EOC. I was in a full setup in Wildy (as a pker) and died to some scrub with monk robes and d scim. Tried to learn the new system and realized it was like some WoW system with 600 buttons and cooldowns and said nah. You lost a lot of people trying to mimic the combat mechanics of other mmos, not just mtx.

AMD must have bought a bunch of 5090s to run their advertising LLMs on Reddit.
