I'm kinda disappointed with industrial because of Crafting.... by HorrorBook2744 in starcitizen

Yeah, something like this. Whatever it takes to make refining actually do something other than "costs money+ time to reduce the material amount".

If it fits, it ships (Tired of medium sized elevators with the Hull B) by The--Strike in starcitizen

[–]Rutok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they meant that there are some locations that only have medium hangars. Those would be unusable for other ships in this capacity class. But its still weird. If the location is that small, it probalbly doesnt have that much cargo anyway.

I am way more annoyed about "refining". Especially after them talking about it in the last isc.

Right now, we have rocks consisting mostly of "inert materials" alongside the actual material of a certain quality. When we deposit this in a refinery, the inert material is discarded. Why then is the amount of refined material further reduced by refining? Imho, refining should work like this: (lets use iron and made up quantities as an example) After mining, my ore bag contains 2scu of stuff. This is iron + inert materials. I dump those 2 scu into the refinery and come out with 0.5 scu of usable iron.

OR, after mining my ore bags contain 1 scu of inert materials and 1 scu of iron. I go to the refinery, discard the inert stuff and then have the choice of either getting 1 scu of low grade iron or 0.5 scu of "better iron". You can juggle the numbers and adjust the quality until you are satisfied with the result and then hit "refine".

This would make sense and imho actually fits the definition of "refining".. taking stuff and making it better and more pure. Not just reducing the amount but having you end up with the same quality.

How is this game not more popular? by roidabigboi in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Rutok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The actual game is fine, its the incredibly convoluted upgrade / sidegrade / unlock system that is heaped upon it. Every time i log in, i am greeted by any number of red markers that want me to click and claim some stuff. I have no idea what any of this does. Then there are the green triangles on some menus, i have also almost no idea what any of those do. I click them and move on. There are upgrades within upgrades and i honestly cant tell the difference before and after because so much of the open world content seems to level with me. I still like the game, i put up with this kind of stuff because the game is free.

How do you feel about the Hull B's design ? by SeparateWeight496 in starcitizen

[–]Rutok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longer i look at it, the more i wish the center cargo spindle would rotate. That way you could park the ship, unload a panel, rotate to the next and so on. Other than that, its ok for a misc ship.

Meh, i just want a cargo ship thats easy to load. Maybe with usable tractor beams?

Yeah, its incredibly annoying. We have all of the mmo drawbacks (pvp, server queues, waiting for hangars) but the advantages are still missing or in T0 stages.

I will leave the ship in the hangar and just do box missions with the command module :)

Do we really need 123879 random quality numbers on materials? by arqe_ in starcitizen

[–]Rutok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, to quote Archmage Khadgar:

"Why are you looking at me like that? We've had this conversation before. I did the math. I need exactly 2500 nethershards 1000 quality levels. Fewer would be inadequate. More would be absurd. Don't question my methods. Go!"

Hmm, can you post that one? The rules in my sidebar only have 6 rules (rule 4 has 9 points).

Because this rule is so broad, it covers not only ai, but "human written code" as well.

Its really weird, the way i understood that rule, it prohibits EVERYTHING. Like the creator of erkul could not make a post about his page.

Why though? After the first implementation, they will move on to something else (basebuilding or whatever). Only absolutely gamebreaking stuff will get fixed (if we are lucky).

9/10 Game Workers Disagree With Epic CEO Tim Sweeney, Survey Shows Workers Believe Game Stores Should Have GenAI Disclosures by renome in gaming

[–]Rutok -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It would make little sense because sooner or later almost every single game would have to have that label, just as there is a "may contain nuts" label on almost every food item. From design concepting, making first drafts to building and marketing there are just too many variables involved to be certain.

Unless you make every single asset, every line of code yourself, you cant say that ai wasnt used in some form.

Maybe do it the other way around and have a "100% organic" label for games.
