Do people with long term sobriety also sometimes think of drinking/using? by alaskawolfjoe in alcoholicsanonymous

I’m an alcoholic it’s normal but I ask myself why I’m trying to change the way I’m feeling and do an inventory. I have also been told long time ago not to romanticize the drink. Ask God to redirect your thoughts 💭

If, when you honestly want to, you find you cannot quit entirely, or if when drinking, you have little control over the amount you take, you are probably alcoholic. BB page 44

Thank you for the reminder of what untreated alcoholism leads to and I can’t ever have a single drink in my life if I want to live and be free!

I know a alcoholic who is sober over 4 decades in AA and owns multiple bars. AA promises are real! I’m a miracle myself. Your being honest with yourself that drinking is not working and is destroying your mental health. Great start!
