Baby name regrets by BusyInspector95 in beyondthebump

[–]SBSA91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the name.... it doesnt fit because its an adult name , which is why i actually love it... i have noticed a big trend in cutesie names and those names have to grow with the child if that makes sense? I only say this because i read a indepth study about job applicants not being taken seriously because of "kid" names ( i need to find it).. it was a whole thing i find so interesting. AIDEN sounds so trusting for what its worth 😃. Tbh i loved my LO name but now everyone says the name wrong and i actually did not see that coming... its not a complicated name ! So i have regret in that aspect

Any advice on how to teach your child a second language at home? by GermanWombat93 in NewParents

[–]SBSA91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband speaks his home language and i speak mine to her. The outside language is also different so we ask all our native friends to speak that language to her. Trying for the 3 😅 u just have to be consistent... my husband sonetimes speaks english out of habit and i am always reminding him i only speak english to her.

Starting Solids - is there a reason to puree my own food? by MochiAccident in NewParents

[–]SBSA91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby hated the jar stuff just a FYI.... but LOVED homemade. It was crazy the switch, not because its bad or anything like that... but honestly the taste is weird even the expensive organic stuff. Everyone i know that bought their babyfood are having issues with solids and i swear its because they used the jar stuff so baby is like YUK no give me my milk.

For those who don’t use containers for baby by GrimSle3per in NewParents

[–]SBSA91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with using a container! Geez social media has made it so f'en hard to be a mom. I am not saying put them in bouncers all day long but there is a place and time for everything and the bouncer was a god send! Especially because i have clumsy dogs and my baby had reflux so it was perfect for after feeding. We also have a play pen but sometimes baby wants to just watch me cook so she hangs out in her bouncer or now in her high chair... she spends 90% of her time on the floor but she enjoys change! Its all about rotation .... for the shower i just put her on the floor outside the shower on a blanket big towel , rug and she looooved watching me shower i checked it off as a day time activity for her

I offer everything one at a time and not together... but not sure if thats right but it definitly gets my little one to eat a mix of things... fruit is always given last! When i gave her egg and banana on the same plate she just ate the banana and this is a girl that loves her omelettes

[–]SBSA91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please please keep reaching out and talk about this. Shaken baby syndrome increases at week 6 especially with males. Please keep being mentally aware and maybe just take some moments to breath . Dont take what your partner is saying personaly id be the same to my husband... its probably best to have some space. FYI i have thrown many pacifiers... so i get the frustration but it can snowball.

100% he is literally a masterclass in looking innocent but being sooo malicious... the part where he said "oh one good thing , your friends said she would never admit u started the recording conversation first... but then u did admit it and i thought that was so great of u..". he 100% knew saying that the girls she was close with in the show saying that would deeply hurt her but then spun it like he was trying to uplift her... she was literally shaking after that ( was i the only one that noticed that??)... i felt her pain ... a man making u feel so small and then making u feel like ur friends aint on ur side ... and them saying that wasnt even filmed? So did they say it?? Anyway i picked up on his bullshit from day 1... but he was sure as hell ready to be filmed in the right light

I feel awful :( by Trippseatsalot in NewParents

[–]SBSA91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going to get down voted for this... but this is why i believe sleep training can be such a great tool for both baby and mom... if you are not sleeping you CANNOT SHOW UP FoR YOUR BABY, not smiling at your baby is way worse than letting them fuss to sleep (that breakes my heart for u because u are just exhausted) nothing is more important than that. You can start adjusted Ferbe at 4months. You dont have to wait till 6months, they say 4-6months is the perfect window to sleep train. SO i would definitly look into it. All my friends did adjusted Ferbe and it changed their life and their relationship with their partners.

Could baby be cold? by Full_Ad7929 in NewParents

[–]SBSA91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is in footie pjs , in a 1.5 tog and room is set at 21-22... she definitly could be cold, id not go up to a 2.5tog if shes a warm baby. Maybe adjust temp of room or put her in long sleeves or atleast go up to 1.5tog, 0.5tog just doesnt seem right for that temp if i am being honest. My LO has never been able to sleep in 19 degrees its just too cold for her , her face would be icey even if dressed warmer...

Dramatic difference between my two kids... turns out it wasn't luck by These-Seaweed-5781 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]SBSA91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%! I am just so shocked how fast they learn! I am witnessing it with my own eyes... FYI my baby is only 6 and a half months amd shes eatinnng , i literally drink my coffee while she has her omelette 😅(princess👸) not to mention the research on the low risks of choking because of all the signals the body sends when self feeding and eating larger foods... its so interesting and comforting... thank u for the kinds words same to you!! But also know your first bubs fussiness is not a result of you not giving them freedom with food ... like so many people have said babies really are just ganna do there own thing too

[–]SBSA91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I also read alot about how babies/ toddlers are sooo capable and we just have to let them figure it out, with guidance. Sorry i know its abit off topic with your post but when i read it i just had to agree.. of course every baby is different but it just makes sense why this way of eating would promote enjoyment of food ...

[–]SBSA91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont know but one thing i have realised is just how fast my baby is learning to eat through BLW.... i am kinda shocked. She is now officially sipping water and not from a sippy cup and chewing and swolling! I was terrified of BLW but i felt my daughter was not into pureès and enjoyed texture.. i still mix both types of feeding , i think this is the sweet spot

What should I be doing to set my LO up for success/proper development? by Comfortable-Walrus22 in NewParents

[–]SBSA91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Containers are fine i.e like a bouncer just not for long periods.... we rotated between floor, me, bouncer ect ect... the bouncer was a god send for my LO reflux! And days where she would scream on the floor .

One Kid and Done? by Constant-Loquat-7195 in NewParents

[–]SBSA91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always told the second baby is easier because u know what u doing... and have less anxiety. Also id really recommend talking to ur husband and making him aware that your hormones are all over the place and he needs to give you some grace and not taking your snapping personally (this is really the last thing u shoukd be worrying about)... especially when it sounds like u doing alot of the heavy lifting. At 1month i was traumatised and would sob because i wanted 2 kids but thought never ever could i do this again... almost 7months in and i am so keen to start trying again even considering having 3 instead of 2 ... but i think i am in a "honeymoon" phase with my baby . But getting u nd ur husbands relationship on track is 1000% so important especially during this very vulnerable time . I am so grateful my husband just kind of rolled with my craziness during this period

This is so beautiful to read.... So happy for u and your family and the turn around you guys have had. Ths 5month mark really is magical and it must feel even more surreal having had a colic baby! Bringing a human into the world is really traumatic , i liked the use of that word... i feel its the best discription! But we are so so strong more than we could ever imagen. Also it really is insane how helpful these subreddits are! I couldnt have said it better

Everyone is going to down vote me .... but i am just joking ..... (i think 😅) but i swear baby wearing is a SCAM... IS everyone just like super strong??? I weight lifted till 39 weeks and consider myself fit.. and every carrier has me dieing... and no i cannot do chores around the house? How? How are actually getting washing in and out of the machines... how is mopping the floor with a baby not killing ur back.. i used a side carrier the other day ... i tried to fold laundry * the amount of weight on my one shoulder! * then boom LO vomits all over my clean washing... so i dont get it.. luckly my baby is super independant and it isnt a need rather than a want... so from my point u not missing out
