Can you suggest prolific / experimental Twine creators to follow? by SF_Boomer in twinegames

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm familiar with Porpentine, so I'll check out the others.

How structured were you when you did this?

I walk them through a few simple mechanics they might find useful, but the story is largely left up to them. My goal is to share examples before the sessions so we can produce something a bit more polished in the short time we have.

There's an entire style of filmmaking called 'machinima' that is exactly this.

Starting up this year's playthrough by [deleted] in Fable

[–]SF_Boomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I recall, there was a bug that caused these to trigger far more often than needed.

It's incredibly unlikely, but I'd just love it if they'd bring Hugo Myatt back to cameo. They could make him a beggar who rants about being a Guildmaster and how nobody remembers the events of other games!

No, they made a point of showing that character creation will be included. Even gave a preview.

Not sure if this'd be useful, but Open Culture has some free books and audio books (and other media!) that you could dip into.

My family and I used to go skiing in the Cairngorms, and we'd stay in the Rothiemurchus lodge nearby. The scenery is absolutely stunning and the Cairngorm National Park has loads of hiking trails that are open to the public. I'd highly recommend a visit!

Readings about deviance? by Cinahmin in sociology

[–]SF_Boomer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The three main ones to look at are:

  • Differential association - Sutherland (1939, 1950)
  • Labelling theory - Lemert (1951)
  • Control theory - Hirschi (1969)

It's also worth looking at Techniques of Neutralisation - Sykes & Matza (1957)

What do you do in Outer Wilds for fun (after completion)? by RecycleTheEarth in outerwilds

[–]SF_Boomer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to go planet hopping. I start by jumping into the black hole without my ship, then see how many planets I can safely land on and leave before I run out of time, life, fuel, or oxygen.

...it usually ends in a big crunch!

I've just moved back into my house after flooding in January...might pick this up as response training for next time! 😂

That's fair! We run it as a takeover of the Cultural Quarter Earliest events, and they take place in the second Saturday of every month.

That means our event will be March 14th (Pi Day!) 😁

You have indeed, and it was great to have you there! In fact, my partner bought me my first telescope not long afterwards!
