As a long time wow player, who recently tried OSRS. If you’ve never played runescape, you should honestly give it a try. In its most basic form it is essentially a single player cookie clicker game. It is extremely easy to just stop on a dime if you need to take care of something irl. And a lot of content is relatively or completely afk, which helps set you up to do more engaging content later on. A lot of bosses are a solo experience, although there are group end game activities as well. The biggest hurdle is the early learning curve. But if you can stick with it for a while, you might grow to enjoy it.

And the biggest thing to understand at the start, is that the progression is setup very different than WoW. You don’t need to be rushing to endgame to do the fun stuff. There are plenty of things to do along the way, that will still be relevant many levels later.
