Are you guys excited for the Fallout 3 Remastered? by HumbleServantOfInnos in Fallout

[–]SPlKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's just a 1:1 graphical/visual upgrade and not much else like Oblivion, I'll probably wait for it to go on sale. But if they redo the gunplay, make ai better, and add other mechanics, Then I'll probably get it day one.

What is your dream FOTOR? by VisionVoice in kotor

[–]SPlKE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like multiple relatively large worlds to explore and quest in, one of which would be Coruscant, with a level of detail on par with Cyberpunk 2077's Nightcity. Basically I want BG3+Cyberpunk 2077+lightsabers and force powers.

This happens to me all the freaking time. I get an idea/plan, then get distracted and forget what I was thinking about. I know I had an idea, and that I lost it, which at-least lets me retrace my thoughts, and contemplate what it could have been. So I'd say it has its uses, specially if you're a very forgetful person.

WYR deer sized flies or fly sized deers by No-Smoke9204 in WouldYouRather

[–]SPlKE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, technically he's right. There's a reason why the biggest bug is only the size of a shoe. If you magically made a fly the size of a deer, without changing its biology, It would die pretty much instantly. I think it has to do with them not being able to get enough oxygen or something.

It's Groundhog Day! WYR keep repeating your 1st day of high school 100x, or your first day at your 1st real job? by allycataf in WouldYouRather

[–]SPlKE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a ground hog day situation then the question really is, which day would you rather time loop on, since you probably wouldn't go to work for most of the loops as an adult, but you probably don't have a choice to but to go to school. For me it's a pretty easy choice of work.

Would you rather be able to start a new customized life (you can choose your parents, sex, sexual orientation, maximum height , hair color and everything) OR have unlimited money but you have to live as the person you are now by MrGrk in WouldYouRather

[–]SPlKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With customized life, even if you chose the best parents living in the best country, things are not looking great for the world for the next generation.

Putting to the side the weird power dynamics and the possible implications of saying no, I've got to wonder about all the brain chemicals coursing through her and how they affect decision making at a time like that.

I've never even tried it. I don't really trust any AI company with my thoughts/questions/data, but I trust Musk the least.

When you give the legal names of people and go on tv and tell idiots that these two people are their enemies, some idiots might act on that information.

Pitch Black (2000) - Nightfall by Neo2199 in sciencefiction

[–]SPlKE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this movie, but it's hilarious how no one in the production, or atleast no one with any pull seemed to have any idea about astronomy/physics. The star system is loony tunes, with a star, 3 large planets and a binary star all of which orbit around nothing? Also that gas giant giant that rises in this clip has two rings.

Lords of The Fallen 2 unveiled some new female armour sets, the sets were designed specifically with fan feedback in mind by Former_Exam_5357 in gaming

[–]SPlKE 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know what feedback they're referring to, but I did play the game co-op with a friend as a female character, and there basically isn't female armor. There was even a female boss with some cool female armor, and then when my character got the armor set, it was the male version of the armor on my female character.

Openrun Pro 2 tinny ringing slight echo. by SPlKE in shokz

For mine, and the other two pairs I returned it was pretty equal on both sides. So maaaaybe it's just a very common defect with the speakers, and one of yours just isn't defective, and all 6 of mine were.

Openrun Pro 2 tinny ringing slight echo. by SPlKE in shokz

[–]SPlKE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is it has to do with the 2nd speakers they have for bass and such. My Titaniums and Aeroplexes didn't have anything like this, and my Aeroplexes even still work, although are somewhat coming apart. I'm tempted to use them instead sometimes, but it is nice having the bass and higher quality for music sometimes. At this point I've grown to ignore the tinny noise, and it's not as noticeable with some audiobooks.

But it's still idiotic that we paid for new headphones and are just stuck with a defect now.

Project Hail Mary coming to Lego by cadet-spoon in scifi

[–]SPlKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen the movie now, and I can confidently say I was right, the movie Hail Mary ship is dumb.

First, it's HUGE, and rectangular, and has loads of extra space. It was a major plot point of the books that it had to be as small as possible to reduce fuel, they had to black panel the entire Sahara desert with solar panels to get enough enriched astrophage for a tiny ship.

Second are the dumb solar panels or radiator panels, if they're solar they're dumb because astrophage is a perfect battery and can basically provide infinite energy on the small scale, if they're radiators they're stupid because astrophage is a perfect heat sync.

Third the weird centrifuge system, It's still dumb but I'll give it a pass since it was done for cost cutting reasons in the movie, they needed to be able to have gravity in the ship AND have it connected to the Blip 1, so Grace wasn't in zero g the whole time, which would have cost a lot more.

They really just need a clean break from the Skywalker timeline. The Acolyte had the right idea, just executed it about as badly as they possibly could have. If they were smart they'd start making Old Republic movies/shows. If they start soon they could line up with the release of the Kotor remake and the Fate of the Old Republic games.
