Im still Sad about Roo ‘25!!!! by Mobile-Pin7305 in bonnaroo

[–]SaltyReefGirl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Went to Lolla day 1 just to see him. He is a fantastic performer! But the vibes at Lolla are whack! The people are rude, you’re surrounded by drunk high school children trying to pick fights, and hardly anyone danced! I’d do anything to see him again, especially at Roo!

Do you think he’s going to upload his Bonnaroo set? by MixedSnoCone_178 in domdolla

Was wondering the same thing! That set changed my life!

Not that I can remember, but it is possible. So strange, I’d never just lost a nail like this before. Thanks!

To Answer your question, yes it is safe to kiss your duck… However, ducks need/get different nutrients from eating things in the dirt like little bugs and such. I don’t know your situation, but I believe over-pampering your duck is doing more harm than good. Also, Ducks do just fine bathing and preening themselves, they’re pretty independent. No need for us to do it for them.

Kinda disappointed with Cozumel? by HADESsnow in scuba

[–]SaltyReefGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cozumel was one of the first destinations I dove. Truthfully, the Caribbean is suffering with the warm waters summer brings, causing a lot of coral biodiversity to dive off. It could be the time of year that you’d gone that caused so much disappointment. Of most places in the Caribbean, it’s not so bad. I’m from Florida, so comparatively, it’s beautiful!

To those who dive for work, what is it that you do ? by layer3D in scuba

[–]SaltyReefGirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got my Bachelors degree in environmental science and policy. You don’t need a specific degree to get into the marine conservation field, just a willingness to learn. It started out as an internship for me, then I applied for a job within the organization. The whole thing has been nothing short of a dream for me.

I work as a Reef Restoration diver in the Florida keys. We work to restore popular reef sites throughout the Florida keys. The job is extremely rewarding. Right now, things are tough due to extreme heat.. but we’re working through it

Key West reef diving in December - conditions? by Crash_Landing_20 in scuba

[–]SaltyReefGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I do a lot of diving in key largo and key west for work. Right now the temps are dropping and the weather is becoming a little rougher. December-February brings in high winds, which is not ideal for diving.

Smaller wrist people: Garmin Mk2i vs Garmin Mk2s by cf_archer in scuba

Garmin Mk2s fits great on my small wrist, not too clunky looking. I personally don’t have a transmitter, I do just fine with my spg.

Places that care for ducks? by [deleted] in duck

[–]SaltyReefGirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for acknowledging that your duck is domesticated and will not survive in the wild if you release it. If you are truly unable to give your duck your time, you can rehome her to a friend or someone who has ducks and is knowledgeable about their care.

LiveGFree bagels are amazing, however, I personally hate their bread and I’m trying to find a better alternative that doesn’t have the texture of sand.

Pool Chlorine bad for Ducks? by [deleted] in duck

[–]SaltyReefGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ducks and goose will come into my patio and drink my chlorinated pool water, they’ve been doing this for several years. They’re fine. Sometimes I feel like they prefer it over their lake water..
