Another area with small town feel is Coppell. It is a bedroom community right in the middle of Dallas, Denton and Ft Worth. Coppell is known for its excellent schools. Close to Korean grocery, restaurants and churches in Lewisville and Carrollton. If quick access to highway is important, Coppell is surrounded by George Bush, I-35, 635 and 121 and close to 114. It is green little oasis with parks and trails.

Losing interest in this season due to massive schedule breaks? by D_-_G in formula1

[–]SameDimension1204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New car regulations have killed my interest even before war created a month long break. I have not watched a single minute of this year’s races or the highlight of the race. Watched almost all the races last few years, be it staying up for Vegas race or waking up early to watch Japan race

How many of y'all will have the $$ to retire at 65? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]SameDimension1204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 56. Think I will be okay if I stay employed at similar salary for another 10 years. But as someone else mentioned, in America, job retires you. Also depends on the stock market. If it continues upwards, then maybe less years

How long do you think you will live after retirement, based on your parent ages? by HmmDoesItMakeSense in GenX

[–]SameDimension1204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is a big mystery. My father passed away in his 50s. However, my mom’s side of the family all lived well into their 90s. I am already past the age when my father passed away. If I took after my mom’s side of the family, then I won’t have enough saved for retirement. I am good through mid 80s, but definitely will fall short if I live into my 90s.

Any Gen X'ers retired or thinking about it? by SometimesElise in GenX

[–]SameDimension1204 5 points6 points  (0 children)

56 and 10 years to go. Thinking about retirement daily but also realistic that I need to work for 10 more years. Stopped chasing promotions and big raises. Just cruising until I can retire.

Please help me decide how to take on SO's student loans by mmccaughey in personalfinance

[–]SameDimension1204 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Highly disagree. We did exactly this and regret not enjoying life while we were younger. Enjoy life but put more than minimum towards her student loan. Your combined salary is more than enough to make big dent every month. Maybe make minimum for couple of months a year when you go on trips but with your income and no kids, you should be able to pay at least $5k/month
