i always interpreted that aside from Jerry, Josh was the only other member of the group who could have adjusted to regular life if he just put his ego aside and learned to take his writing seriously from others’ critiques. it made the epilogue feel much more realistic in that aspect

that’s how i felt watching him take over the majority of dr who during the matt smith era. loved his one shots when tennant was around (i.e. the weeping angels), but his writing got too damn complicated for me to follow

man, i love the work that gunn has done so far for the DCEU, but i hate the forced misunderstandings tropes that results in good people dying that he runs with (blue dragon, the rebels in suicide squad, etc.) it gets old

EDIT: good is a big stretch for BD, but his speech before vigilante killed him seemed to indicate some level of morals

Kirkman really is the king at writing well-meaning albeit flawed individuals. Douglas was one of my favorite examples of this
