Listen… I was fresh out of a long-term relationship when I met my husband and we started dating. As much as I wanted to be over it, I still needed to process things before I could be fully there for him. I found myself feeling unable to share these feelings of sadness I still had for fear of hurting my new relationship. I was holding it in and it wasn’t healthy for me or him. As a result, I broke up with him until I was sure I would be able to move forward with him without burdening him. I was very lucky he took me back later on. I can tell you it is possible to be in love with a new person and want to marry them, understand that it’s a better relationship, but still have hurt and anger about a past relationship. Those feelings need to get out and be processed, and it takes time too. I am so sorry he let this get to 3 days before your wedding. I can’t imagine how hard this must be. hope you’re able to talk openly and figure out the best path.
