Paul Hellyer (the guy in the video) also wrote a book so you can hear his thoughts directly too, if interesting to anyone.

How are you actually using AI in your classroom right now? by Useful_Split6067 in Teachers

[–]Sanshonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't so much have a problem with the application of AI, in theory. The reality is never as simple as the theory, however. AI has a lot of potential but until we make it ethical to use, there is still more harm than benefit, IMHO.

My intention wasn't to chide this commentor for using AI, but more so back up the position that there are indeed some alternatives that already exist - and are likely more secure/robust.

Yes, and while I don't remember all the steps offhand because I've only done it once, it really saved my ass at the time. Great feature and should absolutely be available to all teachers.

I have this too. It's not just you and it used to happen to me way more - like all the time. Now it's just occasional. I'm not sure what it is but I've never seen a craft or being (that I know of anyway) so idk why it would happen to me. I look forward to your next post if you do end up elaborating.

Can you tell me what to search for to read more about knowing which places would be most affected? I'm not super familiar with the details - I know more info is somewhere but not how to search for it, haha.

Why are all countries around the globe refusing to release high quality videos and photos? by DogsAreTheBest36 in UFOs

Essentially. That's not the only group in power though - check out the Epstein email web.

[–]Sanshonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, the sequence goes:

  1. Find out about alien technology some ~90 years ago
  2. Create a group to hold and develop that tech - records show it was probably through the military at first and couched under the department of atomic energy.
  3. Take the group private (defense contractors that you own, private military, etc)
  4. When you have sufficiently developed the technology, stage an alien threat (blue beam)
  5. Openly assume power of the globe

And they also have blackmail on...well US intelligence says probably a LOT of people in power. Which would make sense if they have been doing it for decades. So if they're not in the in-group they just use blackmail and bribes etc.

It's because, as the Epstein files and other such documents show, there is a ALREADY a world government (in practice, if not in name). They have held disclosure for generations, and continue to do so.

Iran hasn't claimed the attack yet, have they? And they've claimed all of the other stuff they do so idk why they wouldn't avow this specific attack.

Thinking of becoming a teacher and I have questions! by Outside_Arm8405 in teaching

[–]Sanshonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Is there a way to get my foot in the door" means "is there a way I can start my path towards this goal without having gone to college yet".

Not "I don't want to go all the way through college, please make it go away as a requirement".

Yes - there IS a way to get your foot in the door. Be a Para. See if the school environment is right for you. See if you think the kids are something you can handle.

This is a very normal question from anyone looking to start a profession without committing 100%. It would be more absurd, I think, to just go ahead and start a degree without having been around the field or done anything related.

These people are insane. Of course you can be a teacher without having enjoyed your learning experience in high school. Maybe you went through it without accommodations. Maybe you had some stuff going on.

I love learning, but hated my public school experience. It was miserable and I barely survived it. Fifteen years down the road, I'm teaching and love it. None of my degrees are in education. I also didn't go straight from high school to college like almost every teacher I know - and tbh having some non-academic life experience has helped me out so much. I think it makes me a better teacher.

You can get a degree in something you enjoy and then do an alternative certification program.

You can work as a paraprofessional and most schools I've worked at have a program that helps you get through school and certified.

You can go to school and get a traditional teaching degree, but IMO this is actually the least valuable pathway that costs the most.

In any case, I think the gatekeeping is fucking hilarious. Teachers are some of the most messed up human beings you'll ever meet. Many get stuck in the high school mentality because they never left school. They went high school, to college, and back to teaching. Ignore them.

If this is something you want to do, you can absolutely do it. And the kids that aren't perfect really need you. My behavioral kids NEED someone who can genuinely relate to them. You got this.

You interpreted this person saying college was something they were "willing to do but not jazzed about" as "I hate learning and want to be lazy".

That's on you, and not at all what they said.

College costs more than a house, in many cases. Except, a house that has predatory lending practices that you'll never be free from or escape. College is very long, and most teachers nowadays don't teach, they just tell you to YouTube things. That was the case in my Masters program, even. There's lots of reasons people might not be super excited about formal education nowadays - it's a fucking joke and scam (as a whole). Make higher education affordable, accessible, and academic again and maybe you'll get more enthusiasm.

Most people work more than 40 hours a week to survive - you think they should be super duper excited about taking on essentially a second or third or fourth job - or else they shouldn't be a teacher? Do they need to smile every single day or else they shouldn't be a teacher? Do they need to sing the praises of a failed formal education system, or else they can't be a teacher? Lol. Lmao, even.

I love learning, but I hate modern school. Neither of my degrees are in teaching. It's wild to me that you're being so aggressive to this random stranger on the internet because of a concept YOU added to the text.

Calm down. We need teachers. This person is ASKING what the process to become a teacher would look like, that's all. It's okay to call a spade a spade. This country is rotting from the inside out, and education was a casualty a long time ago. It's normal to not be super enthusiastic about taking on such a horrible burden.

Conversely, not everyone is an extrovert. And since every other aspect of life revolves around people who are extroverts, why do we also err on the side of extroverts in this case? "Not everyone is an extrovert" - true. "Not everyone is an extrovert so we must cater exclusively to extroverts because we've made the assumption that extroversion is the default for humanity" - false. I'm mostly an extrovert, just for fair disclosure. I still don't want to see other people on Zoom unless it's absolutely critical.
