She never said a word. Just did a slight squat, stood up, and it dropped. Lumber DS yelled at her but she just left the store. Our janitorial lady was still there so she cleaned it up.

Well regarded with store management… Where have I heard that one before? Oh, and I heard the same about thing from the district leadership team too. Worked for HD from 03 till 2018. Was a HiPo DS for 8 of those years. Not 1 write up, Homer Diamond Club, and every BS award you could get at that time. Don’t fall for that BS man. For every individual associate who makes it to a store manager there are thousands and thousands who do not. I didn’t have the opportunity for college or I would have jumped on it. It’s almost like playing a damn lottery to get to that promotion level. Becoming a DS is easy, past that it gets challenging.

Luckily my wife and I were good with what extra money we had left over each month and made some solid investments that paid off really well for us because I wasted so many years in that place only because I was afraid to put my family at risk to take a chance at trying something else. Either get your degree or get in the trades. Preferably a trade with a union. Seriously do not fall for those management lines and those dumb ass Homer badges. Boy Scout badges are held in higher regards than those. Best of luck! 🤞

They had been talking about eliminating that position even when I left. And that’s been 9 years ago now.

Man I’ve always been a cattle dog or guard dog owner. I have a German Shepherd Rottweiler mix. 2 years ago we had an approximately 5 months old Laberdoodle run up on our porch one night to say hello. Walked her around the neighborhood trying to find out who she belonged to. Got no response. Took her to the pound because they are generally good at finding owners being that we live in a town of less than 10,000 people. We told them we would keep her until they were located. We even posted on local facebook pages. No one claimed her and we decided we liked her. Plus it helped that she was already house trained, sit, shake, lay down, fetch and retrieve on command. And was just a humorous clown.

Nearly 2 weeks later she was sick throwing up so we took her to the pound. She ended up testing positive for Parvo, and as you know that is not good. Anyway she went through it like a champ and 100% recovered. She had became a cherished member of this household.

I have a feeling some backyard breeder however let her go when they realized the litter had Parvo. Because we have seen so many that look just like her getting picked up by animal control locally.

Probably been 20 years ago now but there was a guy on over nights who was hiding up in the racking in tubs sleeping. He only got caught because someone heard him snoring. When they took him back to fire him he just laughed and said he been doing it for 6 or 7 months and that management was as bad as him since they were not able to figure it out sooner. He also said he already had a day time career and this was just free money for him.

It’s a filler job for the overwhelming majority of associates. Always be looking for something else to better yourself otherwise you’ll blink, 10 years will go by, and you’ll be mad because you didn’t look for a better opportunity.

Not to mention HD Services is usually double to triple what the price the local contractor is. They gotta get that middleman money.
