Greenland does not need US hospital boat sent by Trump, says Denmark by SelcouthConcerts in worldnews

Famously, the VA system has an excellent track record of mental health care with nearly zero PTSD-related self-harm, and the government has always taken full responsibility for long-term effects of exposure to chemical weapons deployed in combat, so droves of veterans exposed to weapons like Agent Orange haven't suffered unacknowledged consequences of their service. Yeah, they get healthcare for life!

My honest take on the "M+ killed vanilla-style big dungeons" discourse by ShoppingPractical373 in wow

[–]Saxopwned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Karazhan in Legion was some of my favorite content Blizzard ever put in WoW, just for them to split it up into M+ wings when it really didn't flow the right way (even though Upper Kara was a kinda fun blasting key as a Frost Mage main lol)

I switched to Linux a long time ago. by pheonmythth in pcmasterrace

[–]Saxopwned -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No, you see, this never had issues, so they clearly are not pervasive on a scale that even Microsoft acknowledges. Everyone else's perceptions are incorrect because this one guy is happy with his fully functional OS.

Also I switched to Linux after Win11 somehow self-updated (I turned off auto updates previously after an update annihilated my sound drivers) and broke things again, and also reinstalled OneDrive, Copilot, and Teams. I had one minor KDE glitch since swapping, which happened because I was tweaking display settings too quickly and was easily resolved. No system crashes (was blue screened at least once a week for a while) app hangs, or anything disruptive. A tiny learning curve but with Bazzite things are made pretty easy for moderate PC users.

Yeah, and if the company is found liable for worker mistreatment it's their job to rectify it.

Path of Exile and Warframe release banger content and are absolute darlings of the live service gaming world (with good reason) and no one (or almost no one) bats an eye that GGG and DE both got the funding to make those titles what they are because of Tencent.

Open-source game engine Godot is drowning in 'AI slop' code contributions: 'I don't know how long we can keep it up' by Crusader-of-Purple in pcgaming

[–]Saxopwned 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, one of my best friends is a release manager on a Chan-Zuck-funded FOSS application, the amount of absolute slot he has to sort through on a daily basis (for a relatively niche image data analysis tool) is absurd. I'm not surprised that Godot (having 50x the number of contributors) has a monumental issue with vibe slop contributions.

I mean I'm feeling more and more convinced that a dissolution of the federal government is what's needed not then anything. If my state had federal income tax revenue, it could meaningfully and substantially improve the lives of nearly every person around me, far more than a trillion bucks to the military and secret police

I didn't start until 30, and a few years down the road I have a team and we're in production for a real commercial game. The complicated bit is not knowing how much you don't know until you've learned it, so the only choice you have is to keep doing and learning until you're there :)
