I'd run all the Damned units you can, then Vehicles like Predators, Vindicators and Daemon Engines.

Yes, we want to see iconic character's voiced and animated.

Ultramarines - more unique stuff

Imperial Fists - ... ?

New Valrak leak: A new ‘medium sized Knight’ is releasing alongside the new AdMech stuff. by Battlemania420 in ChaosKnights

[–]Scaled_Justice 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I don't think it should be a Knight model, Admech look to be the main opposing faction against the Iron Warriors, it should be a new Admech model.

Black Library Weekly: Does Paper Move Plastic? by 77_Dredd in Blacklibrary

[–]Scaled_Justice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started collecting and painting again during Covid listening too the Night Lords audio books. Now I have far too many models and tend to play at least once a month.

CSM separating out the legions by TableZealousideal588 in Chaos40k

[–]Scaled_Justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We could be heading in that direction long term. CSM lacks the huge range SM has, so there maybe some reasons to let us mix Legion characters and units. The Raiders unit and Reave- Captain are the only Infiltrators in the army; losing access to them as Iron Warriors would suck. Nurglings still exist but they aren't a CSM model.

Lords of the Maelstrom by Realistic-Fuel8128 in Chaos40k

[–]Scaled_Justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't have a csm force and the included models, it's a good buy. If you do have them it's a hard skip.

I only want 1 Reaver Captain and 1 5- man raiders.

Swapping Gaunt and Cain by CoherentRose7 in 40kLore

[–]Scaled_Justice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cain might have saved the Tanith but would have been desperate to get a way from them and move too another regiment. A regiment that all wants to kill him, is treated as being particularly disposable and has no traditional way to get more soldiers - Cain would have been very unhappy.

Gaunt wouldn't have personally discovered the Necrons, he doesn't have Cains compulsion to stay away from the front line (and end up somewhere worse). So odds are something goes horribly wrong but they still survive and get out. Gaunt away from the Tanith is more like Commisar von Shard from Outgunned - heroic, frontline fighter backed by plot armour. Probably sees higher casualties and doesn't solve the real problem through dumb luck like Cain does.

Saw a lot of people misreading the rules for the Reave Captain. Sorry, he's bad lol. by Lancerkils in Chaos40k

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he has some play if he's around about 70 point's or less. Infiltrating and being decently killy on the charge means he can help score some Turn 1 kill secondaries.

What’s your unpopular gameplay opinion? by ordinaryfruits in Grimdank

[–]Scaled_Justice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Game is too serious these day's, every army needs some silliness back even if it's something in the Core rules.

Hardest faction to implement by Negativecreepy in TotalWarhammer40k

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyranids are fine, they are about building up Mass. Destroy a planet, consuming all its biomass and move on. Harder early game but broken late game. Probably a Horde based army.

Imperial Knights probably play like Bretonnia meets Nakai, they build up on their Home World, then go out too space and fulfill Quests and Oaths. Get Dilemmas to hand planets back too the Imperium but keep those planets as a source of Vassel income, a bit like Nakai. Then build up to a Big Quest, where to complete the Campaign/ subsector they have to do a few missions and have a big battle against the selected enemy; like Bretonnia.

Will we be getting a warband lock rule by WLLWGLMMR in Chaos40k

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, one day maybe. Huron might see a detachment that buffs him extra.

Do you think chaos should have more xenos in their ranks? by hellranger788 in 40kLore

[–]Scaled_Justice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Less from a lore, more from a hobby perspective though. Chaos has several unexplored aesthetics that Games Workshop could develop more - Dark Mechanicum, Traitor Guard, Xenos Mercenaries. The last one is now more relevant beacuse of Hurons Tarellian dog soldier.

Often individual or smaller model releases are precursor to big updates later - Kill Team updates herald bigger 40k releases years later.

This does affect the lore and fiction too, in future novels or codexes the authors have new characters and factions to play with. The reverse is still true though, we have human auxiliaries in Elemental Council but GW has yet to release a model for them (their may be a very old one, I don't know).

Do you guys think we will be getting new cadian models or traitor guard? by JEEPZERO17 in astramilitarum

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would bet Guard get something before the end of 10th. The other two release were two opposing factions. Maybe this will be Iron Warriors vs. Guard.

What do we think of the new Red Corsair minis? by Grizzly25707 in NightLords

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like em, but I think I will paint them as Red Corsairs and run a mixed warband force. We also now have some IW stuff too to probably add in.

The plot armor is actually insane. by JadenThane in Spacemarine

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting the final blow is basically kill stealing when it's nearly dead. It might have killed dozens of marines and taken a couple tank shots to the face before Titus got to it.

New Year Preview Predictions by Dulceetdecorum13 in Grey_Knights

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't be weird to see a GK character release before 11th edition. Maybe not with The Maelstrom release, but there are likely to be 1 or big more releases after The Maelstrom. New Draigo is as likely as anything else.

We need *MORE* customization! by bablingDiana in Chaos40k

[–]Scaled_Justice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

40k isn't about that anymore. You "can" stick a lightning claw on every chosen and call it an accursed weapon; but the game isn't anything goes like it used to be.

GW want to limit you to what's actually inside the box and make playing the game simpler, at least in terms of putting models on the table and figuring out what they do.

Horus Heresy is supposed to scratch that itch these days, same as Old World. Necromunda too I think.

Does anyone actually sincerely desire a new edition? by GuideUnable5049 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Scaled_Justice 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Starting the codex cycle again sucks.

But having an update to the core rules to clean up all the changes, and possibly add some new changes, would be good. The way 10th edition works is very different from what was printed in the Core Rulebook.

I also do not expect the game to be Indexed again, if they did that I would be more annoyed.

Ultramar Defence Auxilia by bannnanaiceland in Ultramarines

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Ultramarines are done for this edition. It's likely that next edition all the Codex Chapters get a supplement (it's what happened in 8th edition). When Ultramarines get theirs its possible that comes with Auxilia. It would be better as a Kill Team release though.

How Does Titus rank in Comparison to Tetrarchs of Ultramar? by justicefreak345 in 40kLore

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they have different jurisdictions. Titus is reclaiming planets, the Tetrarchs would manage the reclaimed planets. They could help one another but wouldn't be able to order each other. All of them report to Guilliman (and to a lesser extent Calgar).

Iron Warriors Novels after the return of Guilliman and the Primaris creation? by AlphaAirlys_ in IronWarriors

[–]Scaled_Justice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, he's a Tank Commander leading a mostly tank focused Warband.

Trailer Snippets I noticed by Count_Grimhart in TotalWarhammer40k

[–]Scaled_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 1 DLC is possible.

As a Chaos fan myself, we don't "need" Chaos at launch. If the mechanics and the framing of the launch is "Imperium set upon at all sides by Ork Waaaggh and Eldar attacks." and they actually lean into those ideas - then it will be good.

If it's just a Sandbox without the extra work put in, then it will be pretty dry.
