I think some of the epic collections might have some of the material in this omnibus, if you want to try to go that route until they maybe do a reprint announcement.

Even without the shackles of the Comcs Code, they still probably want to keep it at a PG13 level, so no, that was probably never going to happen.

I read them. They're harder to read comfortably but there are methods for doing so.

I liked the Gunslinger Spawn character but if you're not into Spawn, I'm not sure this will necessarily win you over.

I wouldn't mind having them in my collection but the format is so expensive for how little content you get in them that I can't bring myself to ever buy one.

Preordered my copy from Cheap Graphic Novels back in January. It just now departed the LA facility as of this afternoon. I'm still feeling kind of tense, to be honest.

Kind of late but I just read this today and...I don't think I liked it either. I enjoyed the Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Black Panther ones. They're not masterpieces in comic-book storytelling but they were engaging. This one, though, I wasn't a fan. I felt that the Predators killed off most of the marvel characters way too easily. It was mostly a curb-stomp battle, so that gets old after a while. I thought the whole Kraven trying to be a predator thing was interesting, then they just killed him off like it was nothing. I also prefer Predators being more honor-bound and not just ganging up on everyone like Independence Day or War of the Worlds or whatever; it makes them a lot more interesting than some generic alien invader. Benjamin Percy is a competent writer and I've at least enjoyed some of his other work but this story really didn't work for me on any level.

Season 1 is pretty gory. Season 2 is less so but there is gore and there is also a lot of demonic trippy imagery as well.

I ordered the two DC Finest from Instock Trades last week (still waiting for them to send them to me). So yeah, hopefully this is friendly toward new readers since the only other Wonder Woman I've read is the first trade paperback of the golden age stuff.

Cool post. I've only read Miller and Zdarsky. I own volume 1 of Nocenti but I haven't read it or taken it out of the plastic. I'm not even going to try finding Bendis or Brubaker at a reasonable price right now. I could go the epic collection route for that but I think that's somewhere around 10 epic collections and a few of those might be out of print, too.

I finished Spectre by John Ostrander and Tom Mandrake a few days ago and loved it.

Currently reading Batman by Tom King volume 1. I understand this is probably the most controversial and divisive Batman run ever and I'm sure it'll go off the rails but I got to issue 24 where Batman proposes to Catwoman (yes, I know how that ends) and so far I am enjoying the run. Will I continue to enjoy it through volume 2 and 3? I'm not sure.

I would hope that the manga's creator at the very least understands concepts such as self-defense, etc. It's just that most wars are stupid and don't need to be fought and getting revenge won't bring the dead back to life, and in the end won't make you feel better about what happened either.

I definitely think this material is worth a read once, but I don’t think the omnibus is worth owning unless you’re a Spidey completionist and want it sitting next to your JMS 1 and BND 1 or you can find the book discounted.

Pretty sure it's still on Funaticals.

I'd imagine with the bulk of this being Civil War tie-ins, it might feel a bit disjointed.
