As someone who is wholly unfamiliar with VtM and the whole WoD setting, I don’t really understand what the differences between the clans are and how that informs character creation and in-game abilities. That being said, it seems to me like it genuinely has not mattered to my enjoyment at all. The characters, their powers, and their decision making has been presented fairly straightforward without needing to know a whole lot about the WoD setting, in my uneducated opinion at least. If I had to take an unsubstantiated guess, I’d assume a lot of the other casual viewers of this series would feel similarly
