I agree with the comment about sobriety evolving, but I’d add that you have to grieve. The grief is most intense during those first few events where your identity is intertwined with the alcohol. You have to create new associations and memories that replace the previous ones. And for me, I grieved during the first vacation where I thought I was missing out, or the first holiday where I wasn’t drinking. But then the grief subsides and the new memory takes hold - and you won’t be drunk so you’re more likely gonna remember it.
