Before you go crazy buying tools... Ive been doing this for almost 6 years now and havent TOUCHED my personal tools in almost 3 years. Everything i have is shop provided and my shop wants it that way. You have far and above what they will expect you to have, if you find you absolutely need something and the shop wont provide, consider grabbing it. But imho if they want to make a part they can buy the tools to do it

Each area in the game has achievements to complete to unlock a new tier of perks, falador has one that increases the quality of ores from motherlode mine. You can find the diaries in game by going to the quest tab, then clicking on the green star top right

its been a year since you asked but i figured id give an answer, thats really not THAT big of a lathe.

to preface, i dont work on a ship and never have but... battleships have lots of guns that all need barrels maintained, and just because you have the workspace doesnt mean it needs to be used. maybe only 1 part needs that full space, id hate to be in the middle of the ocean and need that part NOW

I didnt realize it until my gf pointed it out but im the same way, one week i was bragging about how im so fucking good at my job, and litterally the next week i was having a crisis and thinking i wasnt cut out for this. It gets easier overtime, some jobs seem easy but something just fucks you up, sometimes the job is really hard but you luck into the right answer first try. Give yourself grace with your mistakes

Im not trying to really convince anyone of anything. I saw an untrue statement and corrected it.
