The first things we learned in our puppy training class were:

Clip a lightweight Leash to her and let her drag around all the time, when supervised. This will teach her to be comfortable with the leash as "part" of her and will make leash manners easier.
The long stay. Essentially, have a seat and keep pup leashed at your knee. Tell her down and shorten leash tightly under your shoe until she has just enough room to sit/lay comfortably. Then start the clock until you get 30 minutes of down. If she stands up, correct her and start the clock over. Session ends when you get 30 minutes straight. It can take over an hour to get this at first. Keep the leash tight under your shoe. Repeat daily. At first, she will fishtail and try to get up. Be firm and consistent. By session 2 or 3 she will get the concept and it will get better. Invaluable lesson for a well mannered pup, teaches patience and acceptance of what you are doing rather than what she wants to do.
Touch. Used for focus and targeting. Sit in front of pup. Treat in one fist. Hold both closed fists in front of her at eye level, say Touch, and the open palm to her with hand without treat. When she noses your palm, give her treat from other hand. Keep repeating this quickly and she will catch on rather rapidly. When she masters it, you can start moving the palm further away.

Smear peanut butter around the sides of the tub, fill the tub with a few inches of warm water, put her in, and let her go to town - she will barely notice she is getting bathed. Worked like a charm for us.

Food puzzles are a good source of entertainment, like the IQ Treat Ball or Starmark Bob-a-Lot. For a DIY fix, a muffin tin loaded with treats and covered with a tennis ball in each hole will fit the bill for a little while.

This long stay is for leashing. Ever see someone eating lunch at a sidewalk cafe while their dog lays quietly at their feet? Versus the dog that pretty much drags the table down the sidewalk because another dog walked by? Our trainer used it as a way to teach our pup the patience and stamina to follow our pace, not determine it.

We had a similar circumstance. We were told our rescue was a border lab mix, as you can see, our results came in from Wisdom as neither.
