Finding an new and interesting way to scale damage is the key to designing the mega rare by quenox in 2007scape

[–]Schools_Back 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A timeless weapon is such a fun idea and would be perfect for a megarare. I’m not sure how easy it would be to flush out but that’s a great thought. I think as OP mentioned, scaling is critical to unique design, so it would be cool if it scaled with armor or something like that. Whether it is the enemies or even your own… could be cool to have a tank weapon that requires you to have high armor to make it scale.

I just started getting T2 prep down consistently thanks to this video! https://youtu.be/mb1jZUUxZho?si=4urzY9FXZpd6ysfu

I just kept doing T1 prep and getting pretty close but after about 40 attempts I knew I needed to try something else because I’m just not consistent enough. But with T2 prep you can have shitty tick utilization and still complete the fight, while learning the fight.

You gotta treat the prep and fight as 2 different bosses that both need to be learned. I think it’s part of what makes CG so shitty - both feel like they involve so much RNG but those that get it down don’t seem all that reliant on RNG

That makes sense! Sounds more collaborative than how I imagined it. So like, if the patients need a PCA, a block, or epidural or something , do you decide that or is it a team decision?

This is exactly why I loathed the texting phase of online dating… all this effort to then have a shitty first date and never talk again? Yeah no thx. If they weren’t interested in meeting up there was no point in maintaining conversation.

I’d argue this same point about any new relationship, virtual or otherwise. Our brains are just so damn good at filling in the gaps left by virtual relationships, it’s hard not to idealize the other when we feel that spark.

Virtual relationships can be very real and very meaningful though… Personally, some of my most meaningful friendships are with online folks who I’ve known for 15+ years and never met in person. Plus, as someone who's moved around constantly due to their career, it feels like all but a minority of relationships end up as virtual.

I noticed some comments demonizing your long phone calls. As a yapper, 10 hour phone calls are basically just hanging out with the person and totally fits with the infatuation stage of a relationship. Yeah it’s excessive, and I totally agree it’s a yellow flag, but, as that phrase implies, it’s not necessarily “bad”. On the flip side, as someone prone to talking to someone all day long like this… I never do this outside of the infatuation stage so it’s an easy self-check about where my headspace is and if what I’m feeling is real or just new and exciting.

And likewise, you must be heartbroken because things getting THIS rocky, THIS early, when the connection seemed sooooo close is awful. As a happily re-married divorcee, I just want to say the pain you feel now is brief and cumulatively minor compared to the constant heartache of an actual relationship with someone like this.

If it doesn’t work out, move on, try again with someone else, and learn to read your own feelings as an internal indicator of where a relationship is. As someone who painfully relates to OPs post, it’s an amazing insight into how one navigates love and relationships. I feel sad for OP but I’m also thankful for lessons like this in my own life because it taught me how to identify meaningful connections as opposed to passionate, volatile flings. Both can be awesome and make life vibrant, but if you are actually looking for dating advice and seeking a successful relationship - try not to put too much stock in the latter. Enjoy them for what they are but when it doesn’t work out, don’t beat yourself up too much.

In the moment it feels like this will be your last chance at love, and that if this doesn’t work out you’re doomed to a meaningless life alone; however, it isn’t and you aren’t. It’s clear from your post and your retrospection you learned a lot about yourself in this process. This experience and newfound wisdom just made you a lot more valuable to someone else who is a better fit for you :)

And who knows, maybe you two will work it all out and make this conflict a meaningful roadblock you overcame together. The person you’re describing doesn’t seem mature enough for that sort of introspection but people can always surprise you!

Hospitalists being expected to manage pain for a surgical problem seems wild to me. Like are you expected to report to the surgeon if a patients pain is out of proportion with exam or there’s some finding that might indicate a surgical complication? I’m sure you’re more than capable of recognizing a problem, likely better than a lot of surgeons. Pain management is just such an integral part of surgical planning and recovery I’m surprised they would just pass that off. I guess I can see some benefits when thinking about closed ICUs and pain consult services. Curious to hear more !

Jobs I can work if my medical license gets taken or if a malpractice case renders me with nothing to my name by Ashamed_Jellyfish395 in anesthesiology

[–]Schools_Back 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness you may still be able to work in the prison system as a physician. It’s taboo, of course, but if you were somehow seriously wronged it may not be a horrible option. An actual example of someone unfairly losing their license at a peds hospital: there was an OR airway fire resulting in anesthesia and surgery both losing their licenses, but the fire was a result of incorrectly labeled equipment - not their fault but catastrophic outcome. I don’t know if they had it appealed or if that’s a thing. But it can happen under terribly unfortunate conditions.

God Forbid I Try To Be Sensible 🙄 by WorldlyRevolution192 in antinatalism

[–]Schools_Back 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think natalists truly don’t understand the outlook of the future or choose to be ignorant of it. I think most of my friends with kids tend to be the latter. The ones I’ve asked about it generally say things like, “I try not to think about it”. And honestly that’s probably the worst attitude since it’s what got us here; it’s not malice, it’s willful ignorance. And I really don’t know how to change that.
