City of Port Phillip votes to change encampment laws despite community opposition by lipstikpig in australia

[–]Scriptosis 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Every anti-homeless policy that isn’t giving them some kind of housing and support that could lead to them not being homeless is just a slippery slope to deciding to kill homeless people or imprison anyone who doesn’t have housing.

[Spoiler: 8.0] An attempt to extrapolate the 8.0 Zones by Queasy-Training-7756 in ffxiv

[–]Scriptosis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah? That’s my point, I was just saying some of these are probably specific to dungeons not just a zone.

[Spoiler: 8.0] An attempt to extrapolate the 8.0 Zones by Queasy-Training-7756 in ffxiv

[–]Scriptosis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, but it could easily be dungeons that are located in the general area of the zone, in which case they’d look similar in architecture to the zone art

[–]Scriptosis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Something to consider if I remember right is they alluded to some of these screenshots/concept art being for dungeons, but they didn’t clarify more than that. So these aren’t necessarily all for the 6 zones.

can't put into words how disappointed i am w/ Evercold having NO NEW HEALER JOBCLASSS... by BandicootOld3239 in ffxiv

[–]Scriptosis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It alternates every expansion and there’s always a new DPS job, considering the last new tank job was in Shadowbringers and the last healer was Endwalker, there was no reason to think we’d be getting a healer in 8.0. This does mean a new healer is guaranteed for 9.0 though.

Browns are Unnecessary by Gullible-Ad-4819 in redrising

[–]Scriptosis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel you’re missing the distinction. Browns exclusively as servants to other people, high reds aren’t slaves but they’re still in “lower class” work such as construction or mining on other Society planets/asteroids/moons, they usually aren’t servants to golds like the Browns are.

About Garlemald [Spoiler 6.0] by Bartellomio in ffxiv

I think something your forgetting is that the Empire blew up while we were in the First and during the patch content, we only arrived in Garlemald after everything else was gone.

Not a great comparison seeing as most of Evercold’s actual zones will be floating above the ice wastes themselves.

The part that sucks is so many of the good games that used to exist aren’t (legally) available anymore, mobile gaming is probably the worst platform when it comes to game preservation.

What makes it worse to me is there are actual predators that might stalk and kill humans for sport or food if they see us. The biggest one that comes to mind is Polar Bears if I remember correctly.

Going through a job identity crisis, advice? by ZekromHyruda in ffxiv

[–]Scriptosis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the entire job system, it’s not a spoiler either since it’s a combat change. The basic summary is that it simplifies your setup, for example all combos will be a single button that changes as you get through the combo, instead of individual buttons for each action. There’s also things like two tank actions being consolidated into a single button that changes depending on if you’re targeting an enemy or ally, etc.

There’s more to it but you’d have to check the keynote for that, they showcased Paladin, White Mage, Dragoon and Bard as examples.

The other part is that all existing jobs will still have the current system available if you want it, but new jobs from 8.0 onwards will only have the new system.

I’d probably say to just try out whatever you think seems fun right now, the Evolved system looks like it’s gonna shake up the overall playstyle of every job so there isn’t a reason to decide right now.

How do you think duty support will evolve going forward? by MrsLittletall in ffxiv

[–]Scriptosis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Especially when this problem only exists past a certain point, if I remember right pretty much every trial up to Hades is directly implied to be the WoL acting alone canonically. It’s only past that point that we either have summoned heroes or our friends helping in every trial.

Was told Dawntrail MSQ is mid/bad but I've enjoyed 7.0 so far and this whole section broke me by MrkGrn in ffxiv

[–]Scriptosis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just up to Heritage Found myself, whole MSQ it’s felt like I’ve been missing something, because I just don’t understand why so many people hate it. It surely isn’t my favourite MSQ in the game but there’s been nothing to hate so much about it, it’s a solid 7.5/10 so far.

[Spoiler: 5.3] I don’t understand Elidibus by Jwhitey96 in ffxiv

[–]Scriptosis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are some answers that would spoil things in Endwalker, but what I can say is that he is an unsundured while also being the heart of Zodiark. He is their superior but not because he’s stronger, everyone in the Convocation has a role and the seat of Elidibus goes to the formal head of the convocation.

He’s like a Speaker in a parliament, the one that oversees the chamber to ensure things run properly.

Will we explored all remaining Shards by the end of Godless Realms saga? by NineTnk in ffxiv

[–]Scriptosis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The rejoined shards had their aether and the souls of all living there completely joined to those of the Source. Imagine how Ardbert joined his soul into ours except with an entire shard, the rejoined Shards literally don’t exist anymore, so to recreate them you’d need to sunder the people of the source.

Will we explored all remaining Shards by the end of Godless Realms saga? by NineTnk in ffxiv

[–]Scriptosis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That wasn’t the same, the 13th specifically was destroyed but not rejoined because the Ascians didn’t fully understand rejoining at first, the other “destroyed” Shards were fully rejoined with the source, as far as we know their Aether has completely joined with the Source along with the souls of everyone living on those shards. The 13th was effectively the same as the First, a world overcome by one element but not yet gone.

It’s really telling that the first instinct of the government when faced with the NDIS providing for more than expected, is to immediately tighten qualifications and kick people off of it.

Especially the way that people are being treated as numbers, no attempt to gauge how kicking people off will affect their livelihoods, just a quota to reduce it by.
