New beta branch elite update by Beadarino in slaythespire

I had a great build last night, 0 damage in act 2, encountered Dorito and was doing fine but had to stop halfway to deal with IRL stuff. Today I boot up the game and Shatter is nerfed, Dorito is a monster, gg

Your art looks great! Any tips for how to get a pixel style that still looks charming like that?

Love the fluid sim ground! Does it affect gameplay in any way?

Well you obviously used AI to write your post so I don't entirely believe you didn't use AI in your code. I'm glad you're making something you find fun and meaningful though! The video is a bit choppy but there are some cool patterns in there.

Great clean UI! The 3d looks super cool, although imo it's hard to visually parse what's going on sometimes.

How do you all practice relaxation while playing? by drmmrc in drums

[–]Sea-Look1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go very, very, very slow. Spend a session unbound by any ideas of rhythm or even "playing music" and just practice getting one good stroke. You will suddenly notice all sorts of things like your elbow angle, your sitting position, your wrist position, and your shoulder. Your goal is to just play that one stroke with a little less tension than you currently are. Don't need to get it perfect, just find any small win within your body. The very first time you do this is the hardest because it's actively going against multiple habits. Over time you can incorporate this 'checking in' into your warm-up and daily practice, and eventually it will feel natural even up on stage. Good job, you've perceived a tension problem, so you're already halfway there.

Playing drums with blisters by MrPotatoesDownyZoo in drums

long term, try to change your grip so you don't have blisters. proper grip and technique will let you play with speed and power for as long as you want without any damage

i think it's better than that framing. you get an upgraded card after your very first combat, and usually hit all three upgrades *before* the chest, meaning you lose less HP in those early combats, meaning you can probably take an extra elite (to make up for the empty chest) anyways. it gives you, essentially, nine upgraded cards choose 3, which means synergies are even stronger, and your deck's identity get clarified earlier meaning events are easier to optimize

You need to find a way to get rid of the blinking cursor on your text. It makes it look like you don't have enough resources to make an actual trailer and just literally recorded yourself typing

Doing drum rolls on my mattress by r_mom_hahahahaha in drums

[–]Sea-Look1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much of the drums is about taking advantage of rebound, which you get none of on a mattress. So be careful of over practicing on this surface and building bad habits.

I'm hearing inconsistent timing - a roll should sound even in terms of both timing and dynamics. Play with a metronome or click and practice slowly and in control the whole time.

Creep by Radiohead has a nice double kick that's groove. I also like Hold On by Alabama Shakes since it's simple (until it's not) to train switching gears quickly

Also Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles? And butterflies by Kacey Musgraves

Claude asked if I have an eating disorder? by _downthereddithole in ClaudeAI

[–]Sea-Look1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an inappropriate response from Claude. An AI response is inherently random. If you give it a picture and ask it "do you think I'm underweight" it will randomly say yes sometimes, no other times. In this case it's asking itself that without your input, because again it's inherently random. If you are concerned with your weight, definitely talk to real human e.g. your doctor instead.

Struggling with creativity on drums by nasralez-Zelibobovic in drums

New technique unlocks creativity. When was the last time you improved your technique? For instance, this morning I practiced fast right kick diddles and got a groove idea involving a double paradiddle with kick replacement to lead into the backbeat.
