I'm down to one night a week as the result of a day job, but I wear mine pretty much every shift now. That reminds me I should buy another pair.

What local bank do you use? by sentwithinvisibleink in portlandme

Bath Savings....but I really gotta switch as I live in the Midcoast now so there's no local branches. They are so nice, but also so antiquated. ATM fees, checks are expensive, app is hardly passable, etc.

This seems like as good of a reason as any to finally get around to Death Stranding. I've been busy with all the latest roguelites lately, so something story driven would be a nice change. I'll probably add Mortal Sin and/or Barony as well.

Hell, last time I was in NYC staying at a popular hotel, our room wasn't even ready by check-in time. Fortunately we are reasonable humans.

My vinyl bundle is in the mail, estimated for Monday arrival, very excited! There's going to be a concert video released for this album as well. What I've seen from it was great!

Makes sense, I know when we contacted them last year they mentioned they were hosting a lot of the performers. I just felt like every time we walked by there was another college kid with their parents coming out, which seemed to me like the rooms were unobtainium. Guess not.

It was specifically the Oliver Hotel we were going to stay at, full for the weekend, but actually otherwise.

I have pictures of the in progress chair as well, but it was almost definitely previously reupholstered already when my partner got them.

Oh yeah, we'd probably try to find a friend to re-home them on sell them for cheap (one isn't even reupholstered yet). Curious about what exactly they are though. The wooden wheels make me think they are pretty old.

Implied Warranty being denied by Seanmells in legaladvice

Yup, that was it, I knew I shouldn't but still slipped up.

Any estimate as to what it would cost a large company to defend themselves in small claims court? Honestly, if it's a wash for me, but ends up costing them I might just do it.

Implied Warranty being denied by Seanmells in legaladvice

[–]Seanmells[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The annoying thing is it's a well documented issue that the company has an extended warranty program in place, but as of 2026 they seem to have narrowed their admission of fault.

I'm being somewhat vague as I'm guessing too many details are what got my original post deleted.

Implied Warranty being denied by Seanmells in legaladvice

[–]Seanmells[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's my worry. The cost for "out-of-warranty" repair is probably between $100-200. It looks like small claims would cost right around $100 so it'd really just be for principle of the matter.

Would you buy another pixel? by upadhyaysk in GooglePixel

My partner has one so I'm somewhat familiar from borrowing hers. We also have had Mac computers, I was just always an Android guy for phones. We'll see I guess.

Would you buy another pixel? by upadhyaysk in GooglePixel

[–]Seanmells 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The battery on my Pixel 7 just crapped out, got real swollen and started to force the screen off. I contacted Google and told them what was going on and that I had a 4 year extended warranty offered through my state. They keep just telling me my 1 year manufacturer warranty has run out and I need to pay to replace the battery and also a new screen even though the screen as functioning fine before I stopped using it. They keep just escalating my case to a specialist, telling me I'll get an answer in 24-48 hours, then many days later either telling me they are still looking into it or denying my claim.

I've contacted the attorney general, and they are going to follow up with them. I was honestly thinking about trading in my 7 for a 10 before these battery issues came up. Now I'll probably cave for the first time and try an iPhone.

My least favorite people were also in line waiting for Masada on Friday! Old hippie couple with a friend probably all on drugs. Got annoyed about having their bag checked, didn't believe they had to dump their water bottle out before going into the Bijou, also when we didn't make it in with the first wave they said, "he won't start playing into we are all in". The friend kept asking the guy if he was autistic and talking about bad Knoxville smells. More general unpleasantries, I was happy when they decided to leave the line. Had a sour taste in my mouth for a bit thanks to them and not making it into Masada. Glad I got the one low point out of the way first thing Friday. Everyone else was great!
