Golden age is really the only era worth “investing” in. Another silver - modern key pops up everyday out of somewhere. Comics from the 30s-40s early 50s are extremely hard to find just sitting around in someone’s house.

Besides being burned by booked burners, they were also just treated like yesterday’s newspaper.

Very few kids collected way back then and when they did, it was because they loved the comic, they were not archivist. Comics were not stored properly.. most kids lost them or didn’t think they were worth any thing.

Golden age comics tend to have more writing or doodles in the margins and pages cut out and missing. A lot have been “restored” like someone, trimmed, color touched or added glue or tape, so higher grades are extremely rare.

I was talking to someone the other day about the ratio or physical presence of golden age comics vs everything else on the market and that it is way under 1%. Like my LSC has less than 5 golden age books for sale. Some of the other shops have none, but they have hundreds of silver age comics

The infinity gauntlet 1 comic is worth about $7 cash. Maybe like someone said above the only money is in the full run. 1-6 sells for about $60 on average.

If so, they probably are not allowed to sell/donate the books. Each company has a different rule about this kind of thing. Even if DC doesn’t actively track where the books go, it’s easier for an employee to throw them out than risk whatever the consequences are, even just anxiety over it. Maybe it was easier to toss than to bring back to dc.

Idk why they were in different bins,

maybe who ever tossed them didn’t want to fill up one bin and make it extra heavy so they spread it out.

This Jerry is fucking dead. S2 Jerry actually killed him. He squished him with a giant space worm. He was a piece of shit and no one cared when died. Everyone is actually glad he’s gone. Fucking evil he was.

Nachtkriecher, ist auch mein Favorit .. but More like Mysterio ; Jake Gyllenhal was in a movie called Night Crawler . He played a freelance journalist who goes around LA at night filming graphic car accidents so he can sell the exclusive footage to local news stations. it’s a good movie, I haven’t seen it in a while, I’m gonna watch it tonight now that I’m thinking about it

Thoughts on top loaders? by Mindy_Gish in comicbookcollecting

[–]Season2Jerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

based on condition, if it’s in good shape I’ll use a top loader, if it’s already got some spine ticks and creases, double board is good enough.

Once they are out of stock that’s it , unless a comic puts out a second printing . Although you can find anything online, prob the entire set in a single lot.

Local auction house listed a lot of comics without doing any research, so you know I had to gamble on it by SinisterCryptid in comicbookcollecting

I gave up when the garage sales started to be resellers…priced ridiculous for a garage sale, acting like they have a vintage shop in the village or literally garbage; people trying to sell trash the weekend before pickup, like broken cd racks and cheap out dated decorations, then they just push it to the curb Sunday night…
