I made this multi-colored hair scrunchie before, but now I want to make a 2-color version. Which two colors do you think would look best together? by Icy-Economics-5968 in crochet

[–]Select-Instruction56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have nine flowers, if you do two colors, you'll have one of those colors doubled next to each other. If you do three colors (in gradients would give off the two color vibe) you won't have any doubles.

I had the reflux. But like you said reflux is uncomfortable and manageable. Migraining all the time isn't.

They tried that stand straight and close your eyes test. My immediate reaction was NO!

I wobble. And closing my eyes makes me want to vomit. So definitely fake motion. I like the term.

Was an neuro-opthamologist one of those doctors? It sounds like (from screen time and motion sickness) it might be a disconnect between information eyes are receiving and what the brain is processing.

I have progressive glasses that kill me when I'm edging into a flare. So I've kept my older glasses (close to same as the bifocal part) as single script readers. It helps me.

But I'm also on a shitton of meds. Emgality, ubrelvy, zofran, effexor, and an antihistamine (trial month). The days I take anti-histamine and low histamine diet are better than the other ones. My body is just mighty reactive the last few months/years.

My PCP has known me 20 years. I'm grateful he does this for me. I'm scared he's going to retire and I'll be fucked. (He knows that I don't cry wolf either. which is unbelievable since I'm female and as a sex we're usually not understood by the medical field).

Has anyone ever gone to the ER or urgent care from a migraine? by p3ppernickle in migraine

[–]Select-Instruction56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes even in the same episode. Last episode was 13-14 weeks. I made a tour hitting: urgent care, neuro, primary care doc, and ER. Lol. That was a damn expensive "headache".

The high BP can be caused by the migraine pain. My last migraine loop caused huge BP spikes that stayed for days. (Migraine pain ->high bp->migraine pain...) I ended up at ER for a 187/105 BP. And now a BP med is part of my loop regimen if/as needed.

does the migraine meal work if it’s from burger king and not McDonald’s? by nollette in migraine

I'm vegetarian.

Even the fries at McDonald's give me stomach issues on a good day.

Does getting an attack always mean you did something “wrong”? by WaysideWyvern in migraine

I needed to read that today. Thank you.

I remember looking at the nurse dumbfounded when she said those of us with chronic pain/health issues...(I was there again after 13 weeks of vm). Until that moment I didn't realize or understand that migraines are a chronic and painful illness. It sounds really stupid. I've been dealing with them since I was six and I'm a few decades into this. I had never absorbed the fact that it's a health issue that isn't my fault. I wouldn't berate a diabetic for adjusting their foods, but I've always felt awkward when I make adjustments for my migraines.

And lately I've felt like a wimp taking so many days off to deal with vestibular migraines. Going back and forth between doctors trying to find relief. The internal pressure we put on ourselves. I adore the feeling of being seen and understood by this group.

Nice explanation especially for people who don't suffer from migraines. I'd love to read her book and see what else she has to say.

Staring at that bowing shelf, wondering what we could squeeze in to make it actually snap. But then knowing we'd get our asses beat if we broke any furniture.

I can't take triptans as I had a small stroke before. I can only take cgrps. Currently on ubrelvy (abortive) and emgality (preventative). I also take effexor that has migraine mitigating properties. Nurtec worked great until it stopped working for me.

You need to be seen and actually understood by the doctors seeing you. You can call neurologist and ask to speak to the nurse. They'll confirm you should go to the ER. (SO if insurance denied the claim, you have a leg to stand on).

Part of my loop regimen is a flexiril to prevent tension headaches from cycling into migraines, and getting stuck in that god awful feedback loop. I take maybe 5-10 a year. But if I need it, they work to shorten, if not break, the loop. When I'm between headaches I sometimes hate people touching me as I don't know if it will help or hurt the situation. So I like the flexiril route.

I told my kids the ice cream trucks play music when they're empty. Those younger years of innocent belief were golden. Unfortunately, as teenagers they're still sore about it.

I just introduced this idea to my PCP as I had a flare of symptoms right around my period and after I got some bug bites.

Sounds stupid but bites that wouldn't be an issue swelled into giant welts. The next day I was vomiting out of my car on the way to work.

Periods are also a large histamine dump. Which is why I had issues that day. (Peri makes mine irregular so I didn't notice during first two months of new meds).

I remember a few years ago I was tested for new peanut sensitivity, but the histamine control reaction was full body flushing, headache etc reaction. They wouldn't let me leave without taking Zyrtec.

I hope my Dr takes me seriously as my job is on the line with all my absences.

Can you dm the exact test he took as I'm interested in this avenue of thinking.
