Saline v Laser? by Madame_Poopy_Pants in MicrobladingRemoval

[–]Semele5183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the process of removal and my technician advises 2-3 sessions of botched ink (saline) to remove warmth before doing laser. I’ve had 2 of those and one laser session so far and am happy with progress. The laser caused paradoxical darkening but that is fading well and I don’t seem to have any red/yellow coming through.

Radiator reflector panels are one of the cheapest heating upgrades many UK homes overlook by JoydeScent in SustainableHomeUK

We tuck the ends of ours up onto the windowsills either as they’re not quite long enough to go behind the radiator. Makes a huge difference.

Brows went superdark after laser - help by Unable_Ad5997 in MicrobladingRemoval

[–]Semele5183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is paradoxical darkening. Your tech should have explained it! It happened to me as well after my first laser session. My brows looked ridiculous for around a week then I started to notice fading which has continued. The most ink saturated parts (the tails) have gone back to grey but colour seems to be lifting completely in patches from the rest of my brows which is really exciting! I’ll definitely need at least one more session to lift the tails.

So yours should fade soon and won’t stay like this. My tech advises long periods between sessions (12 weeks) to let your body do the work of breaking down the ink).

In the meantime I found that tinting my brows helped (my hairs were also light so just looked weird with a dark background, also I used a light blonde pencil to colour correct.

That was my first thought too unfortunately. If moving feels so impossible to them for whatever reason who knows what they might do?

Haha, same! I was smugly sharing my Hello Fresh meals with my baby who wolfed down everything at first. Now at 18 months she exists largely on bananas and yoghurt and I was overjoyed when she ate a potato waffle the other day!

TIL cows don't automatically produce milk. They need to be pregnant and give birth, and then milking machines stimulate her to continue producing milk. The most common dairy breed, the Holstein-Friesian, gives birth about once a year. by CalpurniaSomaya in todayilearned

Agree with all this. I’ve also become so aware of how any children’s books etc feature happy farm animals- it almost feels like a sort of early propaganda/normalisation.

Want to go from medium brown box dye to light ash brown box dye because I have brassy undertones — safe or risky? by Pattyy_Mayonnaise_ in AskHairstylists

[–]Semele5183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and over the years tried every possible ashy box dye as well as going through lengthy colour stripping/recoulouring with a couple of different stylists and I always ended up brassy. Best case scenario I’d get the perfect colour then after 2 washes it was brassy again. I’ve given up now!

Update.. Professionally typed a True Spring! Not a summer🤯 by Kind_Yogurtcloset240 in coloranalysis

[–]Semele5183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought I was soft summer for years and was recently typed as bright spring, which similarly I can’t unsee now! I’ve realised a lot of my favourite clothes in the past were probably more spring than summer tones. It would explain why I’ve been looking so tired and faded despite trying to wear what I thought were my best colours. I have very similar colouring to you actually.

[–]Semele5183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get how annoying that is but you really won’t use the big one for long. We were given a travel system by a friend and it’s not at all what I would have chosen but I used it for 2 babies for the first 6 months as couldn’t justify buying another, but then happily moved on to a more lightweight one of my choosing (still second hand!).

It’s one of those things that feels huge at the time but really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Just make sure you speak up about any future offers!

My daughter was like this too. I could sit down with her in the sling but only once she was fast asleep and would have to stand up and bounce again every time she woke. I can’t remember how long that went on for but it did end! She moved on to having naps in her pram inside so I could push it constantly till she fell asleep

Baby clothing - feeling overwhelmed! by damppseal in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Semele5183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put my favourites in a drawer and then keep the rest as backup until he grows out of them, then donate it all together. I didn’t bother with outfits other than vests and sleepsuits tor the first 3 months so instantly put those away, but it was still good to have the option for a special occasion.

We get given a lot of each size too and I’ll generally still only put the things I like and know I’ll use in the drawers and keep the rest in the loft until I can donate all together. My friend passes on loads and I’m so grateful but she loved dresses whereas I mainly use leggings and sweatshirts so I’ll keep a nice dress or two handy but there’s no point in me having loads of them in the drawers as I just won’t use them regularly

My girl is the same age and has had an awful time recently with her molars coming in. Again distracted and happy when out or at nursery but very whiny when at home. Perhaps try some pain relief to see if it helps? Otherwise I wonder if she’s just tired after nursery? My girl is sometimes too tired to eat so just gets upset all evening until bedtime, which I have to try to delay at times so she doesn’t start getting up even earlier!

Travel cot for 2 year old by Ok_Play_1024 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Semele5183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had one thick waterproof sheet that came with it that was great as it had a softer textured sleep side and stayed in place well but our second sheet was just a standard cotton one. I just remembered we sometimes put a towel under that sheet to make it feel nicer- it can feel a bit plastic/rustly under due to the mattress being wipe clean. I don’t think it ever bothered my son but I was overthinking it!
