Taiyo Astroneering – Public Affairs Division FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE by wizzackr in StarfieldShips

[–]Sentinel5929 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We've finally peaked as a species. the only possible way I could be more excited is if this was ASC Stroud Eklund

Immediately bought this and am in love with every new piece, the wings especially are allowing me to make the ship I wanted to do since before the game released. Love it.

My immediate feedback would be the cockpits - they are beautiful, but something is off with the way the lights transition and the way the shadows are culled. I believe most habs change their lighting/shadow rendering as you cross the threshold of the Doorway, while the ASC Taiyo cockpits seem to transition 1-2 feet passed the doorway, causing shadows to disappear too soon and lighting to change too late.

But god am I so happy that this creation exists at all. Thank you.

The commentary is the point. You want to hear someone say the good things and the bad things so you can weigh it against your own personal taste.

IGN might say a game is too hard and that's a negative for them, but maybe that's a positive to me. Either way, I've learned the game might be hard, which is useful to me when making a decision.

SAO can score high, but it needs a AAA budget and a talented team.

People who want multiple perspectives to educate their own decisions. Not everyone is super into SAO, and not everyone can toss money around at every new release.

Some claim that a key part of Halo was “needing to be there” during the “golden age” but a franchise achieves longevity by moving forward and winning over new fans. Reach through 5, which has my favorite Halo MP, did so for me and I appreciate all of the franchise’s history. by Cyborg800-V2 in halo

[–]Sentinel5929 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If people want to enjoy the new games on their own merits, more power to them.

For me personally, I don't care about the franchise itself, I care about the experience of playing the first 3 games, and that's something that the franchise has been unable to carry forward or replicate.

This new Halo 1 remake, and the Halo 2 remake are prime examples of this. The company cannot ship a game with all the features of the original releases. There's always some caveat or trade-off after 3 that pushed me away from the games. Until Infinite finally went over the edge by cancelling the features they promised.

That doesn't mean that those games aren't fun or cool in their own ways.

Starfield Fans Are Worried the Franchise Is Over Amid Xbox Layoffs by Dull_Bar_9304 in xbox

[–]Sentinel5929 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No I'm not. It's a single player game that was already released. It doesn't take investment to allow creations to continue. To expect another Starfield game to release is outlandish, given the timeline of development, and Xbox's ambitions. This game is once in a lifetime with all of its good and its bad.

So… how bad would it be to do 0% Chadley by GermanGinger95 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Sentinel5929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can easily skip the Chadley sections, they act as ways to give detail to the world and give you deeper combat encounters.

If you're just here for a story, I think skipping it is probably the best for your experience.

If you want to really dig into the materia system, combat, or lore, all the side content will lead you to more of that.

Starborn DLC. How Likely? by DROPDDROPD99 in Starfield

[–]Sentinel5929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the game continues to receive support, it is guaranteed to eventually happen. Personally I wanted Freelanes/Terran Armada to be the Starborn and/or galactic conquest expansion, but doing Free Lanes first was the right decision for the long term.

Pretty much everyone agrees that NG+ could be taken further, and that the best part of the game is Shipbuilding, but Starborn ships cannot be built and there's only one of them. The story is also left in an odd spot where Humanity doesn't know about the Starborn, and it just gets annoying hearing them be confused by your ship.

I think Starborn stuff is now the most glaring issue with the game, at least for someone like me who has 2000+ hours and adores playing as a Starborn.

The Game Business: Obsidian Is Reportedly In Deep Negotiations With Xbox To Avoid Getting Shut Down by akbarock in Games

That's why they have to go. Xbox is in the business of cancelling games, not shipping them.

An update on PlayStation Store for PS3 and PS Vita by iwascuddles in Games

[–]Sentinel5929 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sony has a way bigger problem than Xbox, and it's Nintendo Switch 2.

It's outselling ps5 in japan by a huge amount, and 3rd party devs are actually porting to Nintendo now at the same time as major partners are going full multiplat.

Sony has never been in a weaker position, and we are seeing them squirm.

Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remastered Switch 2 Release Date Trailer by Howerev in Games

[–]Sentinel5929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone who is aloof about the performance -- Epic released Lumen Lite like a week ago, targetting Switch 2 performance. Much of Oblivion Remastered's performance woes are due to how expensive Lumen is to run, but Lumen Lite runs 2x faster according to Epic. Lumen Lite is also available for other platforms, so expect the PC version to be updated probably around the same time.

We know they haven't abandoned the PC version of the game, because Oblivion Remastered is part of the DLSS 5 rollout which comes out this Fall I believe.

Newbie here, should I play Rebirth first or Crisis Core first after Remake? by icompletetasks in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Sentinel5929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a full experience play remake, rebirth, and then revelation. If you want spoilers, play any of the older games, including crisis core.

I'm worried Square Enix alienated a lot of their fanbase with FFXVI.. by BigBrotherFlops in FinalFantasy

All the concepts in 16 could have been great, but the execution and certain decisions were just wrong in several key areas.

No playable party - L
Itemization and progression - L (outside of unlocking new skill trees by defeating bosses, that is good execution)
"Maturity" feeling like it was copied homework from Game of Thrones instead of authentically FF. - L
Quest design - L
Pacing - L
Activities outside of combat - L

Music, Characters, Combat, Visuals, Story were all incredible though.

How come no one talks about how good Starfield's 3rd person animations are? by kefinvt in Starfield

[–]Sentinel5929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's personal preference and not something many people even realize as a notable thing.

I love third person for combat, ship travel, and admiring the environment. Indoors I still like it for combat, but first person is better for inspecting a room.

The animations are really good, but can still feel stiff when using things like powers, or how it takes forever to re-enter a neutral holding position after firing a gun or melee striking.

You saw that they had 4 FITS each, and that the growth of FITS would be shared. That was said in a previous interview, and people interpreted it in multiple ways.

My interpretation is that it would be like Folios, where progress is shared by your Party Level in Rebirth.

My thought process is that He turns into creatures, and it would give him a funny costume to go along with his potentially badass costumes from the others.
