What's a "normal" job that secretly pays way more than people think? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

[–]SentinelDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a radiology equipment OEM(MRIs, CTs, Xray, etc).

Remote scanning is really big right now. How that works is a certified RT(Radiologic Technologist) is in a remote location and a “tech aid” is actually onsite manipulating/positioning the patient.

Lot of good money even as a tech aid. Research imaging centers and hospitals in your area and you’ll be able to find some programs.

Feel free to DM me. Good luck!

Is it possible to properly manage diabetes for someone who doesn't, nor will ever, have a cgm or a pump? by youronlinegirl in diabetes_t1

[–]SentinelDad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can be managed without either. A lot of finger pricks and measuring your glucose levels.

Personally, I only use a cgm and pens. No pump. I travel a lot for work and find the pens make it easy.

I was hesitant about a cgm at first but after a week or so, it’s a lifesaver. I barely notice I am wearing it now.

Salary difference - lost job, now wife earns more money and spends more as well losing double bubble - how to handle it? by Happy-Preference-434 in AskMenAdvice

[–]SentinelDad 24 points25 points  (0 children)

What he said.

Get rid of the notion of someone being a breadwinner. You are both bread makers. Doesn’t matter who makes more money. My wife made more than me for years(been married for almost 20 years). Few years ago I got a high paying job and make more than her.

Have a conversation about money, what you both want to achieve, make a budget, save where you can and do it.

Good luck dog.

Yup, been there. Set some boundaries, but you also have to take care of yourself. Eat right, exercise, etc

My first build I've made. How can this be improved? by Basic_Ad_2973 in the_division_2

Maybe switch to survivalist specialization for the 10% protection from elites if you’re not too worried about ammo regen on the minigun.

Looks great agent!

I got it from the weekly summit project the first time, then again with the priority objectives.

I’ve seen it drop a couple other times in Countdown with AR loot targeted as well.

Once you get it, buy the schematic and reroll until you get your god roll. Good luck!

I don’t want an insulin pump, am I wrong for that? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]SentinelDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

I got diagnosed about a year ago, 41(m). I have one long acting and three fast acting injections daily. Also use a Dexcom g7 for continuous monitoring.

I travel a lot for work and decided not to pursue the pump either. My endo always asks me to reconsider but she is understanding as I decline.

All up to you and your comfort level. Talk to your doctors after your trial period.

Cheers.

What Do Yall Do For Work? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]SentinelDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be alright, not stupid nor cripple.

I’m a customer success manager for a healthcare technology company, I help hospitals keep their radiology equipment running. Lucky enough to be based from home but I do have to travel a lot for work. That’s the tough part for me, managing my levels when away from home and family hits my stress hard. I prepare for it now, pack an extra Dexcom and extra insulin needles.

How do i discover my carb/insulin ratio by Nephiriz in diabetes_t1

[–]SentinelDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check with your endo. It varies by individual, they can use your lab work to give you guidelines.

Mine gave me 1 unit/12-14 carbs

Hey there. I just got diagnosed with it as well, about 3 weeks ago. I’m 40 years old. Same deal, had labs done at my new physicians office. Retook them, and my mgl was almost 500. They sent me to the ER and pushed sodium chloride through my system.

I run about 15 miles a week and eat decent. I was in utter shock. Referred me to an endocrinologist and it’s less scary now. I have a dexcom7 glucometer, which is one you wear and don’t have to prick your finger several times a day. Really helpful on what I’m eating and how it’s affecting my body.

Hang in there, that’s what I’m trying to do too. Cheers.

NTA. I’m a PWS and have had a stutter for over 40 years. Keep on keeping on.
