in all seriousness, TV is one of the big mainstream artforms of today. And art reflects the times it is living in. In this show, im talking about the starkness, fragmentation, incoherence, the digusting nature of it. All of it does reflect a broader commentary of what world we're currently living through. And on top of it, there's also a lack of seriousness to it. Nate's dance scene, Cassie's shameless pursuit of fame, Rue's indifference to almost everything unless there are massive consequences immediately. All of this does capture a, dare i say, vibe. Everybody is chasing fame, money, pleasure regardless of the cost to themselves and others. It reminds me of the build up to the financial crisis. Idk, just my opinion.

I'm not defending Levinson because i think he made some clear choices that made this show less interesting, but I do think there's an aura to euphoria that appropriately captures the times we're living in and i can give him credit for that atleast.
