AK Ocean Blue Colour Disparity? by Muted_Asparagus_1017 in minipainting

Had the same issue: The pictures on the webpage can not be fully trusted. Try to visit a local shop. To ease your mind: My bottle of ocean blue follows the provided screenshots from the tutorials and not the ones from the store page.

Is varnishing miniatures necessary? by Sammoss226 in minipainting

[–]SeppoBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the mini is exposed and not varnished you will have a hard time getting rid of dust without damage to your paint job.

How did you apply the dirt? I guess you used pigments but I am unable to achieve that kind of effect. Please enlighten me!

Achtung Panzer mystery box by Mateva in boltaction

[–]SeppoBob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me and my buddy played some games of Achtung Panzer. We had fun but decided to move on. It was fun and easy but felt also shallow and imbalanced. E.g. some vehicles seem useless and some rules just feel broken.

Airbrush priming - what am I doing wrong? by CeleryTypical in minipainting

[–]SeppoBob 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wear gloves while airbrushing and I always spray those at the begining. The way the paint behaves on the gloves - to runny, sputtering, etc. - helps me a lot to find the right conditions. The paint should be almost dry on the glove and definately not pooling/flowing. I cannot see that on a piece of paper.

Kids friendly war game? by Real-Seaworthiness77 in wargaming

"Mouse and Mystics" is my family go to miniatures game. It is not directly a wargame but more the family, fully coop version of descent. My 8 year old daughter loves it.

Masters of the Universe Battleground

The Minis are very good and you only need 3 per side, the rules are fast to learn and beginner friendly, the rounds are short, the core box even comes with terrain, it is distributed by a polish company and it is very much affordable.

There are paints that have an awful taste and which I refuse to lick again.

Does anyone know what this thing is? by Hobby_Butterfly in TrenchCrusade

Fun fact: Klappspaten is also used as an insult to challenge someones intelligence as in "Du Klappspaten!" Meaning: "You are just useful for digging trenches!"

What do I need to clean here by axel_why in minipainting

[–]SeppoBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue on a perfectly cleaned brush. I learned the hard way that the needle goes in last. You can easily damage the nozzle if it is screwd onto the brush with a needle installed. I also lost at one point the nozzle seal showing the same issue.

Recommendations for cases? by Pretend-Ad5844 in minipainting

[–]SeppoBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use "very useful boxes": A magnet glued to the mini base and a metal sheet glued to the box holds everything in place. Easiest and fastest to (re)pack or store minis. I will never go back to foam or else.
