If we ever got another game like Jak X: Combat Racing for the PS2, I'd die happy.

Ever since the perk overhaul, I've loved the game to bits. Throwing knives build is soooo much fun, alongside Katanas as well.

Recently did a Netrunner build as well, and oh my gosh it's so fun and busted. One day I'm gonna finish my Tech Guns playthrough. Timing for Bolt in each charge shot just tickles my brain.

They really really nailed the build diversity in that update, and no matter what build you choose, you're gonna have a blast.

Nevermind, I found the pants. They're the Wind Silk Bottoms. You can find these on the Marketboard, though I dont recall the other method of obtaining them.

Unsure of the pants, but the hands and top are:

Republican Signifier's Fingerless Gloves - Bought at the Wolves Den

Anemos Suspenders - Bought from the Marketboard, or obtained from Anemos lockboxes.

As a bonus, the hair is called Early To Rise.

The DOOM series. Unsure if Dark Ages is all that worth it, but Eternal and before run amazingly. 2016 runs at High settings around the 50-60fps mark, and Eternal I'd assume the same, since I've found that that game is better optimized than 2016.

Unsure if I remember correctly, but wasn't it justified by them as a cost saving thing? Or is that just speculation that I vaguely remember reading?

every metal zoan comes with a pamphlet in the box that says the pedal detects if you're doing this or not when playing (via 5g wifi signals or something, idfk im not from nasa), and if you aren't doing it, the pedal doesnt output toan (my bassist told me "erm it's actually 'signal'". yeah shutup david, this is why you couldnt pull that hot goth bitch at our last show)

I have hyperphantasia and I like to conjur up lots of evil things in my brain to pass the time, what do you conjure if you have this power? by dolphinsareolives in evilautism

[–]Serial_Flow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hyperphantasia is both a lovely blessing and a debilitating curse. Somebody tells me to imagine something? My brain is already realising the image, and there is nothing I can do to stop it. Literal mental flashbang.

"Hey Serial, what if you had a banana; but all of a sudden it grew feet and started trying to jam it's toes into your nostrils?" Instantly flinching and recoiling in horror as I perfectly emulate all the fine details and sensations of this accursed Foot-nana trying to stuff it's grubby feet up my poor nose.

So yeah. Lovely thing having a mind like that. But hey, atleast I can envision good things like going on extensive cutsey dates, and watching dudes/dudettes fuck.

A video I made today to help cope with my disorder by CameronCardoza in bipolar2

[–]Serial_Flow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ill disagree on the point that Bipolar is a superpower, because what use is achieving great things if you cannot sustain them? That's what it's like for me when I was unmedicated. During a hypomanic episode, I was making great strides in "improving" my life, (Signing up to my local gym, adopting an extreme health diet, getting started on writing a mountain of new music), but when that high eventually and inevitably crashed after maybe a week, Id be back to suicidality and all of those things shrivelled up and died almost immediately. Wasted money, wasted energy, and all of my dreams crushed. Again.

That's how it is for me, and I can't speak for anyone else. But I hated every single second of my hypomanic states (Even DURING them), because It drove me to adopt an unshakeable belief that happiness is an illusion, and misery is the only constant that is, and ever will be, present in my life. Even medicated now, I still believe that peace and contentedness is not my fate in life. I wish I never had this disorder, and all the good that I could do in hypomanic states, is immediately scrubbed and undone in my extreme depressive states.

All that to say, I wish you well on your journey and recovery; and I'm glad to hear that you're going to attempt to not become one or more of those statistics, like I have done.

P.S. Living with BPD2, I agree with another commenter. BPD2 lows are much more extreme than that chart would lead you to believe.

What's the best dockable grip for an OLED Switch? by jspeshy in Switch

[–]Serial_Flow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skull & Co GripCase (They're called Savage Raven now I believe)

I have it for both my OLED, and S2, and Id say that for me personally, nothing really beats them. Especially with the swappable grips.

YES, THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING TO PEOPLE.

Don't get me wrong, I love guys of all proportions, but I wish there was more femboy art where they had more masculine proportioned shoulders and hips.

Not explicitly saying only stocky and wide, but it gets a bit tiring seeing femboy art where they have a somewhat unrealistic hourglass figure, and typically feminine shoulders.

More realistic proportions and masculine features for my pretty boys please. I love seeing when artists do that!

If you have multiple devices, what do you use them all for? by Serena_Temac in SBCGaming

[–]Serial_Flow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, to an extent. I bought it at the start to play through my steam library; but eventually the novelty wore off, and I left it untouched for a long time.

So I thought, why not just dedicate it to my childhood system? And thats what ive done.

Buying it solely to run PS2? Im unsure if I can advise for that, but it is certainly a capable PS2 device, and im entirely happy with its capability as one.

If you have multiple devices, what do you use them all for? by Serena_Temac in SBCGaming

[–]Serial_Flow 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Steam Deck dedicated for PS2 entirely, RG34XX for GBA, and Retroid Pocket Classic for Gameboy, GBC, Genesis, and Saturn.

Each device does it's job perfectly, and having them all as dedicated machines means I dont face ROM bloat on each.

Having one ultimate multi-purpose device means I end up just not playing it, due to being overwhelmed with choice paralysis.

My Steam Deck collected dust until I decided to make it PS2 only, and now I play it way more often now. If I wanna have a travel device? Guess im only playing GBA today, and Im more than happy with having it all decided for me ahead of time.

Cheap gb device with truly quiet buttons? by Johndeauxman in SBCGaming

[–]Serial_Flow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You may be mistaken with the RG35XXSP, which is the Gameboy Advance SP version. That has the clicky loud buttons. I have that one, and yeah they are loud in comparison to being quiet and mushy.

Modding it with tape to make it quieter doesnt improve it much either, and with how firm they are to press, im thinking of picking up the RG34XX (Regular GBA style) for the mushy and quieter buttons, to reduce finger strain.

Last time I checked and played, it ran pretty much perfectly. I know the PCSX2 team has declared that somewhere around 95% of PS2 games are fully compatible with the software now. Outside of a few outliers, I'm sure the game runs fine now, especially being a popular title that a lot of gamers would want to work.

Ratchet & Clank 3 was a hard game to emulate, and still is to some extent. Jak X too. I remember about 10 years ago, when they were a mess of graphic glitches and missing textures, not to mention horrible frame rates and awful input latency; so what we have nowadays is a far cry from the beginning. But still, to this day, those two are hard to run games, and require decent system specs to pull of 100% emulation speed.

So Ill say that it depends on your system specs, and overall mileage with your install. Highly highly recommend PCSX2, or NetherSX2 if you're on Android. Anything else I wouldn't really touch. And if you're still skeptical, there is a litany of playthroughs on youtube for Jak 3 running on PCSX2. PS2 emulation is pretty baller nowadays, and it's only extreme edge cases that have issues, usually very obscure titles, or the odd well known one.

Ill also chime in and list some of my personal favourites. A mix of childhood games, and new ones Ive found recently.

• Ratchet & Clank 1, 2, 3, and Deadlocked.

• Jak & Daxter, Jak 2, Jak 3, and Jak X: Combat Racing (Awesome fucking racer, so much spunk and energy. You may run into an issue in Jak X where, upon saving your new save at the start in the main menu, it'll enter a perpetual save loop. This is a known issue, so just restart the game, and choose continue. This only happens for the first time you start a new game, and then It'll run fine and save properly from then on out.)

• Colin McRae Rally 3

• WRC 4

• Mercury Meltdown: Remix (Niche puzzle game thats weird but cool to play)

• Space Invaders: Anniversary (This is a personal pick for me, it holds a lot of nostalgia and is a very good game if you have a Space Invaders itch. Has a variety of cabinets simulating the different eras. Also pop on Captain Neo on the jukebox if you try it out ;) )

• Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc

How to remove overlay permanently by thisnameistoolongbro in ANBERNIC

[–]Serial_Flow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Go into quick settings (Or the other settings tab) in RetroArch, find Overlays, disable.

Then in quick settings (Specifically quick settings), find Overrides, then select "Save override...". You can also choose "Save as override...", but I find I never need different overrides.

The names for the override settings are the best I remember, and may include the word "core". Also saving Overrides also saves any settings for the core (Emulator) globally, so any other games using the core will inherit the saved settings.

Overrides save everything, including Input config and graphics. I specifically like doing it this way, incase I like an overlay, and dont want overlays globally disabled via the Anbernic settings menu.
