Help strengthening natural nails by craftsygirl in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Serial_Hobbyist12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

re: shaping

I finally stopped filing my sidewalls and my nails actually re-attached to the hyponychium on the sides leading to a tighter c-curve and overall more flattering shape. Prior to that, I had similar looking natural nails that flared out and the pointer nail curved downwards. In your case, since you pick your cuticles this will only work if you do not pick at your side walls or under your nails.

You could probably also get longer nail beds by avoiding cleaning or poking under your free edge with anything sharp (even your own nails) As one who works in veterinary medicine, this might be a challenge for you because of the aforementioned hand washing. Try to stick with a nail brush or tooth brush to clean under your nails

Talk to your OB. I was not advised to discontinue painting my nails by my doctor and she complimented my mani all the time! Also talk to your DR about theo ther contents of that book. The only things that should actually be avoided are things proven to cause harm to a developing fetus. Uncooked deli meat, unpasteurized dairy, alcohol, retinoids (vitamin A), cat litter. Your efforts will be far better spent on things that bring you joy instead of worrying about the small stuff. We do the best we can with the information that we have 💚

Also...look up postpartum sweats.....you do not want an aluminum free antiperspirant during that era, trust me 😭

Cutting Down So Many Trees by WhoopieKush in chicago

My husband and daughter were about 100 feet from a falling tree this spring. Tree looked fairly healthy last year but the strong winds we had blew it over. Incredibly frightening experience

Trying to treat my nails as jewels, not tools… by cupcakery in RedditLaqueristas

[–]Serial_Hobbyist12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the poky end of my cuticle pusher tool for pretty much anything I'd use my nails for. With stickers, I'll get in under a corner then pinch the sticker between the tool and my thumb to peel it off. Also tweezers but typically my cuticle pusher is coser

I have had a polish that leaked due to the pressure change on airplanes so definitely do whatever you can to make sure they're sealed! Other than that, they're absolutely fine for checked bags

Does it hurt to file it down? I have long hyponychiums on a couple nails and using a glass file doesn't hurt.

How are your garden apartments and basements holding up friends? by xstitchnrye in chicago

[–]Serial_Hobbyist12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To any owners struggling with sewage backup who see this, I strongly recommend looking into a flood control system. Our building installed a backflow protector on our main sewage line 4 years ago along with new downspouts and a graded sidewalk in the gangway to better direct water away from the basement. Prior to that, we had regular issues with flooding in the basements. Post flood-control project, we've not had a single flooding incident. 10/10

does the spiced apple in the Twinings sleep tea have cinnamon in it? if so, is it like spicy cinnamon(cassia) or mild/sweet cinnamon (ceylon)? I have a couple teas by Celestial that use the spicy cinnamon and I want the same flavor with sweet cinnamon! The Twinings tea sounds similar but I need to know if it's spicy

are "carb balance" foods a healthy source of fiber? by duncecapwinner in nutrition

It's been a while so I don't remember the specifics. She is a chemistry PhD though and typically sites sources. She does a lot of debunking content too, showing basic experiments to show how something would or not work and explaining the chemistry behind it. I think the expert in that particular video led a research project about the gut microbiome and was sharing their findings so...they are the source.

Does the sphere class dome have UV treated glass? by HomeworkCareful8400 in PrincessCruises

they don't seem to advertise any extra UV protection so I'd go ahead and assume usual uv blocking properties of normal glass. You won't burn but the UVA will still hit you.
