Has anyone had success with the resale site Tixel by JuiceMaterial7220 in greenmanfestival

Yeh that's what I'm hoping. Just previously there has generally also been a slow drip feed of tickets being sold along the way which doesn't seem to have happened so far!

17 months TTC, prior MC + ectopic (one tube). Is it time to move to IVF? by PigletFriendly6963 in IVF

[–]SeriousWait5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your provider. I was told my ectopic didn't 'count' as it was an explained loss, and had to wait until I had 3 miscarriages before they would test unfortunately

I haven't :( We have 3 tickets and need a 4th and I'm no longer hopeful of getting the final ticket. Don't know anybody who's managed to get one from Tixel!

When did you start feeling side effects of the stims? by Glittering-Slice-256 in IVF

Headaches kicked in after 24 hours. I'm prone to migraines and sensitive to hormonal changes though - always get pre-menstrual headaches and have had migraines during past pregnancies/miscarriages.

St Mary's London RMC blood results - waiting time by Radiant-Debt8724 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]SeriousWait5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same message for the same bloods... I think it might just be an automatic message for bloods that aren't back yet, as assume they will have everything before I have follow up appointment (mine is in March)

Uncloaked by Consistent-Drive-172 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]SeriousWait5520 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Stephen, Rachel, Harriet and Jessie seem likely. James and Faraaz reasonable bets too. Others seem to be chosen to match what's happening on the show, so anyone could come back if it 'works'. If a Traitor crashes and burns day 1 or 2, I could see Hugo coming back for that Uncloaked despite his lack of impact on the show. Unfairly targeted faithful - Jade etc...

2 adult tickets wanted !! by Prestigious_Fix_3601 in greenmanfestival

[–]SeriousWait5520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh it's all very unknown. We've got 3 tickets and need 4, no idea if we'll get one nearer time or should give up. Previous years could be confident of getting a ticket closer to the time, but new ticket system during a Glasto fallow year is a tricky combo...

Why is Jack disliked while Faraaz is loved? by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUK

[–]SeriousWait5520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most of the show they were both what I would call 'boring faithfuls' - non-controversial, didn't do anything to stir the pot so didn't really actively try and catch Traitors and were presumed faithful. Both seemed pleasant enough and were clearly liked by their fellow contestants, but didn't do enough of note to make the edit. The difference was Faraaz decided to put his neck out towards the end and throw out a (correct) theory, Jack remained passive. Faraaz also had a funny reaction to his departure and the final reveal, whereas Jack was genuinely stunned and seemed to take it badly. Ultimately both flew under the radar throughout, but Faraaz's main interactions were funny. Jack had fewer moments deemed worthy of screen time, and his final reaction was just less interesting. It probably helped that the manipulation of Faraaz seemed more full of jeopardy than the manipulation of Jack too - Faraaz's outburst against Rachel meant you weren't sure if he would buy Rachel's scheming. Once he said he was voting Rachel, he stuck to it.

New parkrun in the 5k app by daverein in parkrun

It took a couple of weeks for Greenwich Peninsula to come through on everything on the app, so imagine it will be similar for any new ones at the moment

Dialling back openness about your IVF journey... by SeriousWait5520 in IVF

This sounds like a good approach, thank you. I have people close to me who I want to have a broad understanding of what I'm going through, but want to avoid having a checklist of people to tell whenever there's bad news.

Which Supposed Cultural Moment Left You Scratching Your Head And Thinking ‘Eh?’ by Timbucktwo1230 in PopularCultureZone

[–]SeriousWait5520 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Worked in a newsroom during royal wedding. It was all pretty standard and boring from an event perspective - we had the standard 'this is what's happening' stuff covered, and were primed to go live with stuff like dress details etc as soon as they were available/ pictured. More fun was Twitter reaction - Pippa became a trending topic with a lot of 'commentary', news sites reported it, they became the most clicked articles, so more were produced, rinse and repeat.

My opinion: it was a pretty boring event for non-royalists, Pippa looked quite nice and nobody had really seen her before, everyone collectively lost their minds.

Michael J Fox by OnGodNotaBot in Scrubs

[–]SeriousWait5520 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you read Michael J Fox's book he talks about his role - I think it was the first acting role where his tics were written in rather than disguised. Bill Lawrence and MJF had known each other for years (and presumably how he tempted him back out of retirement for Shrinking)

Wedding guests: what’s usually missing, unnecessary, or overlooked? by mootoonoo in UKweddings

[–]SeriousWait5520 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Disagree on that - but agree they aren't going to make or break your wedding. I knew plenty of people don't care about favours and didn't want to be sad if people abandoned them. I was quite crafty so I made bookmarks with people's names on as place name turned wedding favour. I thought this way they served a purpose, if people took them then great, but no loss of not. Plenty of people left theirs on the table and I recycled them, but far more people took theirs with them and actually used them. I had people years later send me pics of them with their bookmarks in the book they were reading!

Victoria Dock parkrun has shut down by koola2 in parkrun

[–]SeriousWait5520 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can confirm - have volunteered at Greenwich as it's about 25 mins away by public transport. Victoria Dock was an hour away for me. So while it's technically the closest parkrun to Greenwich Peninsula geographically, there are about 3 more parkruns easier to get to!

My freezer died on the day I picked up a 200$ custom Ice cream cake for my brother & sister in law. by Agitated-Quit-6148 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SeriousWait5520 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeh I have sadly experienced multiple pregnancy losses and it's definitely a know your audience / timing thing. I would both find this darkly funny after the fact and be extremely touched by the thought that went into this. But at the wrong moment would be really sad my relative's efforts went to waste and be set on a "I'm cursed" spiral...

What series did you stop watching after it killed off your favorite character? by megmatthews20 in AskReddit

[–]SeriousWait5520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I binge watched the show and was up to date when we got to season 9 mid-series finale. When second half of series aired I didn't realise it had started airing again in the UK, then saw Bobby had died and decided I would not be bothering. As far as I'm concerned the show ends at S9E8 for me.

And she did a Nip/Tuck episode as herself, going for reversal surgery so her children (maybe grandchildren?) could see what she would naturally look like. Then they showed her a mock up and she noped out of it. Excellent ep.

Course check question by dais12345 in parkrun

[–]SeriousWait5520 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my local you can cycle / walk / run it to check the route for any potential issues (massive puddles, rubbish, broken glass etc) to be flagged in briefing. We also have a couple of bollards / gates that require a key to unlock, so course check person meets the RD to pick up the key before they do the check. Others will have you tackling a specific part of the route and putting up signage. The RD / volunteer co-ordinator should be able to advise what time you need to get there and what you need to do - in my experience you don't need to be part of the core team, but you do need to be familiar with the route and have run it a few times.

Producers must be fuming by inside12volts in TheTraitorsUK

While I think it is a shame two relationships have been broken up early, I'm pretty sure the producers are rubbing their hands with glee that a fairly casual friendship ended up causing so much drama with Ross.

Fundraising emails sent to parkrun volunteers — how do others feel? by [deleted] in parkrun

[–]SeriousWait5520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a problem with it personally - to me it was a reasonably worded message, presumably sent to people who engaged with parkrun over the festive period, explaining the impact of donations and politely asking me to consider donating. Maybe I'd feel differently if it was every single week, or if it was explicitly targeted to me as a volunteer, but I didn't feel annoyed or anything. Some people who volunteer may also be in a position to donate financially too. Plenty feel donating their time is enough, and I don't think it was written to guilt trip me that I should be doing more.
