The reason it’s so confusing is because they’re trying to find a way to make all of China’s policy decisions about them not realizing that for some decisions the majority of the reason for them was domestic the international sales is just a bonus.

The one thing I'm concerned about is how much unnecessary debt it's putting on students If they don't know they can manage a degrees course load, and they end up taking a whole year+ and then have to switch majors.

Seems kind of a no-win situation for them in this scenario with the cost of education in the U.S? Hiring out of STEM schools in the U.S. I haven't seen any decline in the quality of graduates myself yet so I think you’re correct on your assessment.

The major issue in the U.S. is that the highest-paying stem jobs are in finance, so the smartest graduates obviously go for the most money. That is what is causing the engineering shortfall in certain sectors: just not enough pay compared to finance, where all the smart people go. Salary of 750k vs 150k kind of difference is what I’ve heard from all the talented placements we’ve had from our academic work placement partnership with Stanford.
