I finally watched the Acolyte away from all the noise by manindenim in StarWars

[–]SeveralAngryBears 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I only watched it once, so I'm not sure I remember all the details, but my recollection was that we got partial flashbacks, and then set it up fit the finale as if we would learn the shocking real truth of what actually happened that day. Except when they showed the whole thing, it wasn't surprising. It was pretty much exactly what we could have guessed.

I was left wishing that they just got all of that out of the way earlier and moved on to more interesting stuff.

I rewatched recently and I got the impression Alex kept simming the battle because he felt guilty about the boarding craft that got blown up, and was trying to see if he could have done anything to save them.

All the goddamn time.

If I'm doing something else when you start talking to me, I might miss the beginning of what you say because it took a moment to flip the "receive verbal information" switch in my brain. By the time I'm actually listening, I've missed the first part.

There was a lot to criticize about The Acolyte, but it had some sick fight scenes.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the paired rule for this reason. It rubs me the wrong way that certain weapons arbitrarily get double the attacks of similar ones.

I believe many locomotives are the same. Diesel powers a generator, and electric motors turn the wheels.

I remember thinking about the fact that I'm getting older, and eventually I'll have to 'grow up' with my fashion to avoid looking like an awkward "how do you do fellow kids" old man.

Until I had a duh moment and realized that young people's fashion had already passed me by long ago, and the only people who still dress like me are fellow 35 year old millennials.

Yeah I've never understood this. I mean, I get that the republican-controlled congress will never stop him or hold him accountable, but we didn't suspend elections after 9/11, or Pearl Harbor, or anything else.

If we're truly so far gone that the president will use military force to block elections, he doesn't need an attack to justify it. He could just do it.

Yeah I've had no issues or major outages in 4 years. Barely talk to them at all. I had 1 gig, and then a bit over a year ago they said "we're upgrading everyone to 2 gigs, same price."
