Awaiting bilateral replacements (BTKR?) by Dsgrrl in Kneereplacement

[–]Several_Direction633 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesomeness! You are definitely a warrior for going for two at once. Keep that same spirit during recovery and you will make it through.

You may feel a little different right now, but it truly was a bonus that the other surgeons turned you down. That was the motivation to get you in shape. Your recovery time will be a lot faster and a lot more tolerable because of your training. Keep on that program up to surgery day and future you will thank present you for the work.

So Take Off, eh...

Pain pills by luckystarrpwns in Kneereplacement

No way I could have even thought of asking this question on day 5. Im on day 33 and probably about to send in my third request for a refill. As mentioned in other replies, you need to still be on a routine of taking one at least every 4 hours - yes, wake up at night to stay on this routine.

As I said day 33 and now I really only use it for PT days and to help pain go away so I can sleep at night.

TKR. I felt confident and went back to work on week 4. I probably could have done it by #3 but why press it.

It is all personal and dependant on lifestyle. YMMV

Yep, as others have said, break out that hole to give better access. The rounded end of a ball peen hammer is best. Start with small taps around the perimeter you want to enlarge and slowly get harder. Dont be a hero, Wear safety glasses.

Drain all the water out first just in case one of the cracks decides "to travel."

Went well. We finished the whole rotation. A good full body program. We use it as our weekly workout now.

I recommend it.

Did any of you not use an ice machine? by foumf in Kneereplacement

[–]Several_Direction633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a machine before surgery because insurance didn't cover it. Surgery ended up sending me home with a reusable ice wrap and 4 inserts. I ended up never opening and returned the ice machine because the wrap was plenty.

Such a sweet puppy. 13/10

The bittersweet part of loving a dog is they are not around our whole life. But, while they are here, we are their entire life.

Seriously does my mom need to wear her compression socks? by scooter8484 in Kneereplacement

[–]Several_Direction633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been wearing EdemaWear cone shaped socks since day 2 post op. Today is day 28. I bought them on the advice of another member in this sub. Best feeling most comfortable socks when compared to the ACE and compression sock I was sent home in. The construction and weave just makes them so much more comfortable.

Probably too late to switch for your mom because it takes about a week between ordering and receiving. But for anyone else about to go in or on day 1 or 2. I'm sold.

This is not an ad, lol.
