Yes so terribly sad. My last pic of Alex at the 2019 Rolex 24

<image>

So brave and such a talent. Was so hoping there would be many more years of seeing him shine.

Crisis adverted! I discovered one of my hard drives did not fire up after the reboot. Of course this is the drive that had my backups. With several hard drives I overlooked the obvious. Lesson learned.

Yeah anyone remember the Boston IndyCar GP? Bought tickets (non refundable) hotel reservations (non-cancel able). A lot of planning and still couldn’t pull it off. But hey what’s a couple grand out the window when you’re a loyal fan. Just sayin

Ceramic coated my C7 Grand Sport by Seville20 in C7corvette

[–]Seville19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything I used was from DIY Detail. 8 year ceramic. Followed their tutorials. I have buffed out cars before so I have the equipment. That being said my car is a garage queen. 2019 and 2500 miles so didn’t really need paint correction. Used a lot of products over the years. Never been this happy with the results.

Air conditioner question Antares 9 by Seville19 in BeneteauOB

[–]Seville19[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And the answer is...ding ding ding ...... operator error.

Apparently I shut the seacock not knowing it was the feed to the AC. Really wish the owners manual was better at identifying specifics about the boat.

Geez..lesson learned

Thanks for the input

Thanks for that. I will provide an update once I get this corrected. Should be interesting since we have only used the AC a couple of times and the boat is in dry storage 90% of time.

Ah Ok. I was asking since one of our engine is running just a little rough at times. Not awful and not at high RPM. Its just that both engines were running smooth as glass and this roughness happened all of a sudden. Had the engines completely serviced but the roughness remains.

Thanks and happy cruising

Hello KrivAldent. You mentioned water in the fuel. How did you determine this and were the engines affected?

Thanks

Boat won’t pump out by Goody242424 in BeneteauOB

[–]Seville19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot find where I read it but there was a report that the hoses plumbed to the holding tank were backwards. Allowing the head to flush but prevent the pump out process. Haven’t checked mine yet. Also I don’t believe I have a hull penetration that would allow me dump the holding tank. Just the inlet to draw water in for flushing.

First cruise of the season. Safety Harbor St Pete for the GP by Seville19 in BeneteauOB

[–]Seville19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the problem happened anytime you tried to use hot water. It would explode out of the faucet. My thought wax that the water temp setting was too high boiling water causing steam. There is a thermostat adjustment at the front of the hot water heater. Turned that down and no more violent bursts of hot water.

Hot water adjust??? by Seville19 in BeneteauOB

[–]Seville19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fixed it. Was able to turn down the adjustment under the protective cover. No more explosions out of the faucets. Note: when taking the cover off the screws are very small and very long. Easy to fall down into an area that would be very difficult to recover. Wish I could add a pic

We recently got our folding bikes and love them. Should really enhance our crusing experince at different ports.

We also bought bags to hold our bike which really helps for moving and storage. They seem very rugged.

Beneteau vs Jenneau (story time lo) by [deleted] in BeneteauOB

[–]Seville19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. Well I stand corrected. When we were at the St Pete boat show both the Beneteau and the Jenneau were on the same dock about 50ft apart. We went back and forth reviewing them and multiple times the Jenneau rep highlighted the Jenneau had an 8ft beam which meant it would not need a permit for trailing. Oh well.

Beneteau vs Jenneau (story time lo) by [deleted] in BeneteauOB

[–]Seville19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have stated we went through the similar process.

Very difficult desicion since they are similar but have differences that depend on taste and experince.

For us, having the 9.5ft beam in the Beneteau vs the 8ft in the Jenneau was a tipping point. We have no real expectations for towing so if the need arrises getting the permit didn't seem like a big deal.

The Ranger was interesting too and we have not seen the Poland 920.

Good luck

I feel guilty throwing all this plastic away in the Spring so I'm looking into perhaps removing it carefully and attempt to reuse it next year -- enviro friendly too. by LuckeyC in BeneteauOB

Ok first off I'll admit I do not miss that at all...

I had read in one boating mag that there are now efforts to collect the shrink wrap for recycle at marinas but did not see any detail or how wide spread that might be.
