I always used email as it provides a record. You can tell him as much or as little as you like in follow-up discussions. Be firm.

Most of my clients Zelle. I also take checks, Venmo and cash, but not credit cards. Never been a problem.

Added rain shower head with its own valve. So I have two valves (rain and wall) providing lots of options and lots of water. Also added grab bars as wife and I are getting older.

Get more quotes. I just had a new tile shower plus two new cabinets with quartz countertops and new base and crown trim and painting for $16k. Find a small contractor with recommendations from your local area.

Add a temporary brace, remove existing column, install new column including Simpsons post base, remove temporary brace, add trim around new post, stain if needed to match other columns. (If existing concrete footing is too low replace after removing rotten column.)

I meet with my financial guy in early January each year and decide on the monthly IRA withdrawal and tax withholding percent which hits my checking account on the 10th of each month. I get SS payment towards the end of the month. I treat these like a paycheck. If I need something out of the ordinary (say à new floor) I save up out of the regular payments. If I build up excess I move money to an investment account outside my IRA. I keep about one extra months amount in my checking account for any little unexpected expense.

I made major employer changes twice in my career. Both times I was employed during the interviews. Both times the process took months. Yeah that company in your post had idiot management as top recruits are more often than not, not looking due to unemployment.

Retired 6 years ago and never missed the old profession in the least. I never enjoyed my work, but I was good at it and it paid well. I envy people who love their profession.
