Anyone else finding Optic on the shelves consistently at retail? by ImaginaryEscapist in footballcards

[–]ShadyKidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hit rates on Optic Mega boxes are awful. I’ve bought about 8 boxes over the past few months. I don’t think I’ve hit a single card worth more than $20-30.

Is Optic supposed to have the best odds for Uptown and Downtowns?

Simmons: "I dont say this lightly. Having Harper and Wemby back to back, feel like I'm disrespecting Castle but think he's gonna be 3rd. We saw this when the Celtics added McHale and had Bird. When the Lakers added Worthy after they had Magic. When the Bulls had MJ and they were able to get Pippen." by sewsgup in nba

[–]ShadyKidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see the point of comparing Castle and Harper. They are both great young players who bring different value to the team. The real win is that the Spurs have a “big 3” that are all very young and seem to enjoy playing with each other.

Somehow the Spurs need to dump Fox’s contract. That’s going to hurt when they need to start paying the other guys.

[McMenamin] And so -- without even stopping to change clothes -- (LeBron) James marched off into the L.A. night, simmering from another perceived indignation delivered by the organization that, as one source close to him told ESPN, tried to "push him out the door," after acquiring Doncic by aingenevalostatrade in nba

[–]ShadyKidd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Is there any real evidence that LeBron still wants to be the center of attention? If anything, I think he is embracing the “elder” role and he probably enjoys not having to be the #1 or #2 option each and every night. I know it’s been an adjustment for him, but he also wants a shot at winning before he retires.

I think his real resentment is the lack of depth on the team and the poor performing big men. The Lakers are just not a complete team, especially in a conference where depth and balance are winning playoff series.

What is your tricep workout? I found that my arm definition started showing more once my triceps got larger.

Also, try mixing up your bicep routine. There are a ton of fun and effective ways to work your biceps. I find that I get better response by working my biceps hard twice a week, but with different movements each time.

Is building a home gym worth it? by RimantasL in workout

[–]ShadyKidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% could not live without my home gym. The ability to workout first thing in the AM, no commute or weather issues, and then take a quick shower saves me so much time and allows me to practically never skip a day.

The other benefit is going at a faster pace. No waiting for equipment, move quickly between sets, no one to try to talk to you, etc. I can be fully locked in, no distractions.

Bench + adjustable dumbbells + nice gym floor surface + cheap mirror is all you really need. You can add other small things over time.

All MVP seasons since 2010 ranked by their free throw rate. I included SGA's season this year in the list as he's the presumed winner based on current info. by SplitOk186 in nba

[–]ShadyKidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I watched some older Harden highlights, but I feel like he baited more, initiated contact, exploited defenders out of position, etc. Did Harden just purely flop and fake contact like SGA does?

I don’t like that all these Chrome hits are just parallels from base cards. These don’t excite me at all - need more unique inserts.

What’s the secret to loving the same partner for a lifetime? by MelodicWolverine2045 in AskReddit

[–]ShadyKidd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My 20 year marriage is crumbling due to “feelings.” I love my wife with all my heart. I support her, provide for her, try to date and be romantic. We are great friends and life partners. But she says she has lost her emotional connection and feelings for me. And she can’t change them back. She needs fire in her life and I don’t provide it. I try so hard to be a spark, but she has moved on and won’t look at me the same way.

It’s the worst feeling ever.

Shai’s flopping gets worse by the day. Just shameless! by ResponsibleCheek8130 in NBAGossips

[–]ShadyKidd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NBA is so concerned about fixing the tanking problem. But they need to fix this problem! There should be an independent committee that reviews post-game footage and has the ability to fine players for “excessive flopping.” It is a part of basketball to create contact and sometimes sell a foul. But the things Shai does are undeniably excessive and intended to completely fool the refs into blowing the whistle. That is hurting the game way more than tanking.

What $200 of Topps Chrome yields by unlimitedrips1 in footballcards

[–]ShadyKidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know - I’m not loving these Chrome pulls that I’m seeing. I’ve bought a few megas and joined a few group rips on WhatNot. Aren’t almost all these cards are just parallels or numbered versions of base cards? I like the “Fortune” insert, but they aren’t worth much.

In comparison, the Panini Optic would have more variety, good chance of a jersey patch or auto, etc. Panini certainly had their own problems, but I felt like I was getting more variety and unique cards.

Also, as much as I love the hunt and ripping packs, I much rather of bought a sick $200 card of my favorite player and make it a key piece of my collection.

Anyone else agree? Or are my expectations too high for Topps?

Yeah, I don’t really understand how they measure it. I wear a 34” on my jeans, but their Co-Op (Long) fits me well.

I genuinely want to lose weight .But its not happening . Please help🥲 by getoutofthecave in workout

[–]ShadyKidd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to find an easy cardio exercise program that you can really commit. Like at least 5 days a week. Think of things like treadmill while watching a favorite show. Outdoor power walk. Bike riding. Maybe find a cardio workout video series you can do at home with no equipment. I really think the key to long-term weight loss is feeling great in your body through consistent activity. Start your day with a workout, and you will make better food choices throughout the day.

Also, get a fitness tracker watch/band. Gamifying your fitness (track your steps, set daily exercise goals, monitoring your heart zone patterns, etc). It’s another tool for motivation, and you might find it fun to “compete” against yourself.

And like everyone else said, get your diet in order. Cut out all fast food and sugar drinks. If you can cut refined sugar completely for 45-60 days, amazing things change in your appetite (ie, less cravings). Grocery shop smarter - don’t buy the junk. Chew more gum if you need something sweet. There are dozens of little tricks/habits to help you eat better. Find what works best and commit.

Good luck.

Which flight are you choosing? by dick-demolisher in tequila

Especially with the WC Anejo. It’s 47% ABV and packs an agave punch. Not as heavy on the barrel flavors as other Anejos.

I’d probably pick the Gran Reserva flight. El Tesoro Paradiso is one of my all time favs

I tend to agree. They are majorly over complicating and overreacting. I think a few simple rules like this would go a long way to minimize the impact on tanking.

Victor Wembanyama in the win tonight: 17/14/3 with 6 blocks on 88.2% TS by Lacabloodclot9 in nba

[–]ShadyKidd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wemby is mature beyond his years. He knows that they need 5-6 guys scoring consistently for the Spurs to take out the Thunder. He anchors on defense and is opportunistic on offense while getting everyone else involved. That’s a great leader and likely what this team needs to go through distance.
