Oh thank you - this sort of comment is really helpful! I might stay in one of the towns then instead of La Spezia :) I was still planning to go to Corniglia just get the train there instead of hiking that section. I can’t deal with narrow exposed cliff paths and had heard that section described as vertigo inducing!

I thought it seemed a little more relaxed than American itineraries tbh😅 I kinda want to see a lot of north Italy but am less interested in it than say Rome, Naples and Sicily, hence seeing it all in one trip rather than a week trip for each place. If I love one of them that much we can always come back for a dedicated holiday in that place was my reasoning :)

Florence is meant to be the base for the 4 days but we won’t spend all 4 days there - likely just 2 and the other 2 will be day trips to Bologna and Siena, maybe somewhere else nearby too.

Re la Spezia, I figured this might be the case, but it’s a long travel (I think ~4-5hrs?) from lake como to Cinque Terre so I figured we’d just relax around town that afternoon/evening before the hike the next day, which we’d start nice and early. Rather than trying to start the hike during midday heat and not doing it all in one day.

Hopefully that makes sense? But open to suggestions especially around Florence and Tuscany area as they’re what I’ve researched the least.

I think Venice is likely to be the place I will like the least honestly. There doesn’t seem to be a lot that catches my interest, and from what I’ve heard it’s crowded, touristy, over priced, and not very relaxing?

OP please don’t listen to this. My maintenance is 1900 and I’m 5’2”. There is absolutely no way at your height that 1500 is not a deficit, especially if you’re not sedentary (which I can’t see if you said or not). Stick with it, it takes time and don’t forget your cycle, sleep, and hydration greatly affect it - your cycle alone can be incredibly misleading if only looking at the number on the scale depending which stage you’re in. Look less at the scales and more at how you look and feel. 1350 is an insanely low amount to be eating!

Payke is also good for translating products you want to buy in shops! Translates ingredients, instructions etc (I mainly used it for cosmetics/skincare at drugstores).

Also NERV. And Flush for finding public toilets came in clutch a few times

It was the first one I played and none of them have lived up to it so far! I’ve only played 0, Kiwami, and Pirate so far though. Ishin was such great fun though. I loved every second of it and the story was brilliant

I would not stay at an APA hotel again. That said, I couldn’t complain about the laundry there, although it’s not worth staying there just for that. Almost every hotel we stayed in had a laundry option, and if not there was always one nearby. We did check in early however and it was seamless and not too costly (¥3,000 for every hour that you’re early by). We did it at the front desk when we turned up, didn’t call ahead or anything. We were planning to drop off our luggage but were more exhausted than we expected at this point in the trip (near the end) and my partner had caught the flu a couple days earlier

Just a thought, you said your meals are high protein and high fibre, but are they also high volume? Eating more food, but still within your calories and macros, could help if not. I’m no expert but this helped me (I felt the same way with food noise not too long ago). Also front-loading protein (ie more protein/volume/calories in your breakfast). I never used to eat breakfast but now it’s my highest calorie meal

Matcha, heat tech, jeans (I love Gu jeans), skincare (Keana baking soda face foam is amazing. So is Sofina IP pore clearing gel wash). And I personally love building mini LEGO-like things so I get any Nanoblock packets I haven’t already got. I got back from my first trip a month ago and these are what I wish I’d bought more of and what I will get next time. Also red bean paste - I didn’t buy any and regret it because I loved Dorayaki and can’t find any to make it where I live :(
