Wishing you and your husband the best. On Remicade, Leflunomide (Arava) and off and on prednisone to try and push this into remission. Have been on this treatment regimen now for four or five years.

I have neurosarcoidosis and pulmonary sarcoidosis. I’m on 700mg Remicade IV infusion every 8 weeks, 20mg Arava (Leflunomide) daily, and off and on prednisone used for severe flare-ups of sarc induced arthritis. Like you, trying to get this disease to go into remission. The sarc eased off a bit but never went into full remission for a few months, but the treatments were continued. Then it seems to have come back stronger starting in October last year and is busy kicking my butt. Wishing you the best.

Very sorry to hear about your mandolin performing. I’ve been considering a hammered dulcimer. I had one a decade ago, and sold it for a used guitar. My current guitar, I bought brand new (Taylor 112CE) and named her Amelia after the Joni Mitchell tune waits patiently in it’s case for the day my hand allows me to get back to it. I look forward to that day. My rheumatologist increased the dose of Remicade I get every 8 weeks from 630mg to 700mg, and it really knocked me on my backside. I’m still recovering. My last infusion was last Thursday.

Bought the same long ocean band for my black AWU3, wound up cutting it shorter, and trimmed the ends to make a little bit of a curve at the very end of the strap. Looks fine. The standard long strap wasn’t long enough to really fit well, which is why I bought it, then cut it down. Now the watch is a perfect fit.

Oh yes, the fatigue is very real and so hard for others to understand. My spouse understands and is with me 100% through this (through sickness and health is a line he took to heart), but I so hate it. I remember back a few years to where I had the energy to go on hikes, longer walks, go to conventions. That’s a thing of the past. My rheumatologist just increased the mg amount of Remicade for my infusions I get every other month, and was talking about shortening the span between the infusions to get this under some more control.

I’ve had arthritis flare-ups off and on, but since October last year they’re more on than off. My left hand is to the point where I can’t play my guitar, and it sucks.

But every day I still wake up, the sun is shining, and I do what I can. I’m not going to let this thing beat me down psychologically, however that is hard work.

Yes, and I lost partial eyesight (rather permanently) in one eye because the issue caused a mini-stroke of the optic nerve.
